Re: CBR600RR wouldn't start... then did.
Yep, I agree with the others (what first came to my mind also). I'd guess first look at the side stand switch. Maybe after a few kick ups and down of the side stand and it's freed up the switch somewhat and it's making a more reliable engagement/disengagement now. Nice bike by the way

Re: 400cc
OK, 150 on the clocks IS about 135 true.
600s with 100bhp do 145/150mph, not 400ccs with 60bhp.

Re: 400cc
I've had 145mph out of my ZXR (private road), thats been dyno-jetted, and have K&N stage 1 and Blueflame race can. If you go for a Honda VFR, spend the extra dough, dont buy a CHEAP one, if its too good to be true, it probably is, my bestmate rides an NC30 and currently aint running, wont even ...

Re: 400cc
A few more things. When I say "electrics" I really only mean the regulator/rectifier goes, and they are £35 second hand. VFR vs RVF, there isn't enough difference to justify the £1000+ price tag. They are pretty much Identical, bar very small insignificant changes GSX-R and the FZR400 I wo...

Re: Backfiring bike on start up }:-(
Still does it ever so often if I don't let it turn over for a slight moment before adding a bit of gas.
It's a fussy starter, but starts very well.
