thanks all. i finaly got around to fixing it and it was mud in the carbs. about 2 tee spoons in each float bowl. it was dead easy to do, no harder than bikes with out the carb icing kit on them. i dont know why i just did'nt just strip the carbs in the first place.

there is a company in exeter that rebuilds shocks and i'm told he has quite a few race teams bring suspension to him (car/rally/bike). i can find out who and where he is if you like but i have no idea on price. but if price is your first consurn i'd try to find one from the brakers with low milage.
