Re: Paralysed rider.
Hi everyone, it's been decided that March 1st is a little early in the year. We can't guarantee decent weather at any time in this country, but have a better chance nearer summer. This will also give us time to increase both the quality of the event, as well as get lots more lovely raffle prizes. WA...

Re: stupid car drivers
A stupid car driver pulled out in front of a great friend of mine & has left him paralysed. We're holding a fund raiser on March 1st (see other events) hopefully we'll not only raise plenty of money for a great cause, but hopefully get the message across to a few car drivers to 'THINK BIKE'.

Re: Paralysed rider.
Hi, sorry its been a while since I last updated everyone. Malcolm moves out of the nursing home today, & into an adapted bungalow. The fund raising event is all set for 1st March at the Two Mile Oak, on the A381. There are dozens of fantastic prizes to be one, from multi national companies, as w...

Re: Overtaking inside the white line
I apologise, I was wrong.
You are allowed to overtake in the presence of a solid white line as long as you don't cross it.
The information I'd received came from MCN a while back.
I hate being wrong, but love learning.
Ride safe.

Re: Paralysed rider.
UPDATE: Malcolm will hopefully be leaving the spinal unit at Salisbury within the next week.
A room has become available at the Forde park nursing home.
He'll be able to see his dog again, & its not to far for his wife to visit.
(I hope that doesn't sound wrong?)

Re: Paralysed rider.
It'll probably be better to mention getting back on a bike, once Malcolm is back in the area. He can't go home, due to the fact that his house cannot be converted. Hopefully he'll be out by Christmas, if he can find a suitable care home. The fund raiser is going to be on 1st March at the Two Mile Oa...

Re: Overtaking inside the white line
It is ILLEGAL to overtake any vehicle when there is a solid white line, whether you cross the line or not. The solid line means NO OVERTAKING, not 'do not cross'. The only time you are allowed to overtake, is if the vehicle you are overtaking is doing less than 20mph, & it is safe to do so. ......

Re: Waterproofs over leathers
OXFORD WATERPROOFS, do reasonably priced 2 piece suits, I got mine from Bridge in Exeter.
If its just for commuting, & you'll be wearing over dry leathers, then maybe a one piece may be better.

Paralysed rider.
I know I'm new here, & I hope you'll appreciate that this is not the sole reason I'm on this site. My good pal, Malcolm Sheppard, is currently receiving treatment in Salisbury hospitals spinal unit. He's in Tamar ward, & has been left paralysed from the chest down, courtesy of a car not seei...

Re: polishing
I have had serious problems on the forks of my Harley. I swear by Solvol, but for the tougher problems, go to 'Toolstation' or 'Screwfix', and spend, literally a few quid in a couple of polishing wheels for your drill. They are made of cotton, don't scratch, & saves a lot of elbow grease. You do...
