STOOPID RIDERS 2 - WELL DONE EVERYONE CONCERNED

Post by speedy(delboy) »

I would just like to say WELL FCUKING DONE to everyone concerned, who just didnt or couldnt be arssed to read the posts correctly (Except Mervin) that Chaoscustoms (Chris) took the time to type out, in the thread STOOPID RIDERS.

If this is how we treat new members, and a paid up member at that, then God help this site.

Chris is a [Censored] good friend of mine, and you lot just treated him like shit, ALL BECAUSE HE HAD AN OPINION. Well he wont be coming back as he has just rang me and asked me to take him off the site.

I felt a right CNUT, because I was the one who told him this was a great site and everyone was so friendly etc etc.

Well how fcuking wrong was I :?: :?: :?:

Maybe some of you might like to read this thread, that I put up (Before it was hi-jacked), a few days ago.

Well, what can one say :? off-line for a couple of days and the kiddies throw the toys out the pram

It's a subject Chris is obviously very passionate about, though I must admit to being on the "flogging a dead horse" side of the argument. I would also suggest that he needs to be a bit "thicker skinned" to on-line banter ...... 'tis easy to be a keyboard hero where you are not face-to-face with the other parties ....... and it's a shame for someone to throw in the towel of some relatively minor comments.

At the same time, people should think about what they write sometimes - it can be very hard to read sarcasm/inflection/humour in a comment when typed that is all too obvious when said face to face ...... and that is even more true if you have never met the person/people making the comment :?:
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

I am sure he is a lovely gentleman in real life but having read some of his posts, he does come across as a bit of a c0ck. It seems like he is the one who cannot accept someone else has an opinion that differs from himself... but I guess we're all dangerous sports bike bikers whereas he is a true biker.

I guess our club hasn't lost out much.

It was all Gavin's fault. He's the one who instigated it all. He told us to do it. Blame him yer honour...

Did you actually read the whole thread Phil? Just because he's a mate and new to the site doesn't give him the right to disregard others views, chuck his weight around and expect everyone to swallow what he said without question. Whilst some mild abuse was directed in his direction, he wasn't hesitant in dishing it out:

Thankyou John for another eloquent but sadly pointless put statement.

Banter on here is the norm and once people get to know each other....the abuse begins  but it's mostly lighthearted.

Any other social situation where a newcomer mouths off and is dismissive of others (even if the points are valid and well informed) is likely to come unstuck.

From how he's described himself however, I'm very surprised he's come crying to you, he seemed quite capable of looking after himself.

And I second Funky...it was all Gavins fault

Phil, I think you are seriously out of order having a go at everyone who commented on the first thread just because your friend is 'upset'. I hadn't bothered to read the first thread much, but having seen your rant, I just read it through. Your friend was, in quite a few posts, fairly patronising/condescending, and he was unnecessarily aggressive to Funky - I thought you said he had a great sense of humour? He certainly seems to have misplaced it just recently.

It's obvious that he is passionate about the subject - but perhaps this is not the forum for it. I suggest he takes it somewhere where someone can actually do something about it.

The overall impression I got from the thread - and now backed up by your post - is that he is allowed to disagree with everyone else, but no-one is allowed to disagree with him. And on that - I refer you to your thread about this being a FORUM and NOT A CLUB.

If someone (newbie, paid-up member or otherwise) posts a strong opinion and then disagrees loudly with the opinions of others, then it's not going to be hugs and kisses all round. No-one has to press "Submit", they can choose to ignore a discussion or a person. Chaoscustoms chose to join in - and now he's chosen to leave. Does it really matter?

This is a forum - and imho it seems to be fairly bitchy/cliquey. People come and go and the style of the forum will change with them. Such is life.

Did someone mention riding bikes?

I was first to see this thread when Phil posted it, and this is almost exactly what I was going to write... But... having not responded or commented on the initial thread guessed that Phil had just worded it wrong and wasn't having a go at everyone... until I read it again that is... although within minutes he had changed the thread title from 'Everyone' to 'Everyone Concerned' ... so decided not to comment anyway.

Shame he felt he had to leave over one thread :? . Fair enough he did have a point about freedom of choice and some didn't quite get that, but he slung as much mud as was slung at him! Cross words happen here but usually everyone makes up in the end, well apart from old Fester  !

Ok, I'v kept quite to see what the responses were and here are some replies:
At the same time, people should think about what they write sometimes - it can be very hard to read sarcasm/inflection/humour in a comment when typed that is all too obvious when said face to face ...... and that is even more true if you have never met the person/people making the comment
Absolutely 100% True.
I am sure he is a lovely gentleman in real life but having read some of his posts, he does come across as a bit of a c0ck. It seems like he is the one who cannot accept someone else has an opinion that differs from himself... but I guess we're all dangerous sports bike bikers whereas he is a true biker.

It was replies like this that got his back up in the first place. I wounder why, all he was being called was things like cock and knobber etc etc
Did you actually read the whole thread Phil? Yes mate I read it all, and he only came back at people when they abused him as far as I could see.
Banter on here is the norm and once people get to know each other
Totally agree, I am the worst offender for this (apart from Spunky), but no one knew him.
I'd like to re-iterate that i would not like to see a dictatorship here in the uk. But i do object to mis-informed bullshit being aired.
I do believe he apologised to GSXRSi for having the Syke and helmet part wrong. He was mis-informed himself, geniun mistake.
Phil, I think you are seriously out of order having a go at everyone who commented on the first thread just because your friend is 'upset'
I dont think so, I know alot off people have different opionions, but, how many has been sent away from the site for being strong minded, to many.
The overall impression I got from the thread - and now backed up by your post - is that he is allowed to disagree with everyone else, but no-one is allowed to disagree with him. And on that - I refer you to your thread about this being a FORUM and NOT A CLUB.
No, Kim, all he was trying to get across was about choice, and that the 22mph test was a waste of time. He didnt, as far as I can see say that wearing a helmet was a waste of time only the test for the helmet.
This is a forum - and imho it seems to be fairly bitchy/cliquey. People come and go and the style of the forum will change with them. Such is life
True.

True

nanny state or nanny f ing forum???????????????
Nothing has been sensored on either of the threads and never will be. (unless we are asked to by a majority)

This thread may go on for ever, but I just wish it would all go away, but I know it wont for some reason, people will always want to have the 10 pence worth even if its drivval.

All I am asking is for people to sometimes think before they post, thats all.
