CBR6 or Daytona

Post by baz »

There are two at the shop and I'm deeeeeply interested in having a faired bike, after successfully managing a year on the hornet with no shiny-side-down incidents. I know the Honda will have better build quality, and higher residual value. I like the look of the Daytona though. I've never ridden a bike with clip ons though, is it that much of a different feel?

I like the Daytona's, they are a bit different, no doubt Mike Daytona will be along in a minute and give his view :)

I bought a daytona 600 about a month ago and absolutely love it, fantastic road bike, the only thing i'd swap it for would be a daytona 675.

The build quality on it is actually pretty good, all the fairing bolts are stainless steel and mine's an '04 and doesn't have a spot of rust anywhere.

Triumph residuals are actually very good at the moment, and if you can stretch to a 675 you will absolutely love it. Build quality is also good, much better than Triumphs of old.

I know some will say I'm biased because of my work, in which case just pick up a bike mag and read their reviews.

I'd personally go for the daytona. They're not as common and look great.

Umm now wich would I choose :?

The daytona is a lot more comftable than you'd think, even the wife gets on ok on the back. they handle well, I dropped my forks through the yokes by 5mm and have got Pilot Power 2CTs on. I know I'm bias but even though the styling is a bit dated I think it's one of the best looking bikes made.

If you got any questions don't hesate to ask me :D

are you talking cbr6 or the cbr6rr ? im guessing most of your riding is on the road so would say the daytona over the RR but it would be close between a cbr6 and the daytona, that would come down to personal styling preferences

daytona is a great bike mate. had one for 4 years and not one bit of trouble with it. Try and get the 650 if you can or negotiate a power commander on the 600 as there are a few flat spots low down revs.
I only noticed that when I bought the Tiger 1050
