...your view will always be biased as you own a GSXR1000, and will swear it's the best bike ever made.
I'm sure your a salmon, as your memory only last's 5 seconds, as you've made a big thing out of this before.
Suzuki done the GSXR1100, to be all things, to all men, sadly that combination of Grunty Engine and twitchy race frame didn't work, hence the scary ride, but the engine is a peach, I'll go for grunt over revs any day...
So what did they do, the smart move that anyone in their position would do, take the GSXR1100, and turn it into the busa for peeps who want the grunt and power, and for track nuts, come along a bit later with the GSXR1000.
Makes perfect sence, but both the busa and GSXR1000 came about due to that thought process...
So you got two sets of Tools on offer there, one for the track, one for the road...
But when you come across people who use Track bikes on the road, and then when then slag everything else off, you need to stop and think... "arn't they a little confused and missing the point????"
For what my TL cost me, and for what I've spent on it since, I could well have got a GSXR1000 new myself, but why would I want a track bike when I ride on the road every day of the year?
Grunt on the road is what you need, it's more useable, it's more exciting, and best of all, it get's you out of the s.hit when things go wrong (Like Big smooth manholes on large roundabouts wanting to make you a cropper!)
To me, the GSXR1100, is a piece of Suzuki history, and it's very few bikes that make me smile as much as it did, ok it handled like a bent plank, couldn't stop to save it's life, but point it in the right direction, open it up, and you just giggle as the torque rips it up.
My TL has got more grunt than a GSXR1100, but it's a damn sight more rideable, with the wheelbase of an R1 and well over 140 at the back wheel, it's no slow mo either!
But the GSXR1100 for me still gives the bigger grin factor, Prolly due to the fact it was a grunty engine that pulled like a train, but in a GSXR package, which allmost, just allmost worked...
I've not been on a busa, to be honest, I think if I did I'd buy one straight away as it would bring back that same joy of riding a GSXR1100, plus have the added bonus of actually being able to stop and do corners too
Anyway...
Still doesn't have the fear factor of a GSXR1100 which it replaced though
Purely meant that the engine was a peach, but it was in a bike that couldn't handle it, to me the GSXR1000 engine ain't as much fun, but least the bike is safter (more useable) to ride.
Likewise with the TLR, it's anonther package where the bike can handle the engine in it, but it's got way more grunt than a GSXR1000, and that's what does it for me
Everyone will have their personal peference as to what they want from a bike, some peeps want to be scared s.hitless, some peeps want to pose, some want track days and be like they are on motogp... then some like me, just love riding on the open road, and the tools we select for that job may vary from what others may think are better or best bikes made.
