Trackdays
Im looking at doing a few trackdays this year and was after a bit of advice. Ive done Castle Coombe and Silverstone National before but that was a few years back. was wondering what tracks people would recommend. Going to do Castle Coombe again but cant do dates till later in year, was thinking Mallory. Can anyone recommend anywhere else that is good for newbies?

Firstly, if you haven't signed up for Llandow, get onto the reserve list ASAP - great wee track for newbies, plus you're with a forum crowd so everyone behaves themselves.
Mallory's ok I suppose, but it's pants compared with the days pre-Edwina's chicane (spit!) Snetterton's a good track for newbies as it's wide and fairly flat, dead smooth, good fun but not too technical, unlike Cadwell or Oulton. Donington's not bad, but be aware of stupid noise limits (though not as ridiculous as Castle Combe, but I wouldn't stop there for a piss on my way to somewhere else) Brands Indy is good - nice surface, short and easy to learn, good fun to ride. Popular and relatively pricey though...

trackdays ????? trackdays you say, them's the devils work - just asks her
get your name down for llandow on june 7th like scotty has said, always a good place to stretch your legs. A few on here made Pembrey their next step up. From there it was Cadwell (keep an eye out as there are normally a few trips made by various friendly folk on here always looking for a van share.
After cadwell the world is your oyster - you just can't beat it when the sun is out.

There is a track weekend Easter Sunday and Monday. I know of a couple of guys with a spare space in tehir van and looking for a 3rd guy to share costs!!!
Re: Trackdays
Mallory - grippy and does catch people out. If you are on it, it can be knackering as no time to catch your breath.
If your gonna crash, don't do it at Gerards......it will total your bike.
Donnington - Fantastic - be careful going into redgate as this can catch you out but pin it through craners.....feel the G force. Coppice is also great for spinning the back up.
Cadwell - Fantastic - learn the track to be quick, follow quicker riders and beware of hall bends as can be slippy. 2 Bumps on the mountain......novices go left
Silverstone - GP track - Fast, fast & fast......never fall off here, it will total your bike.
Anglesey - Never been - Am doing this year as soon as bike is built
Llandow - Never been - If bike is built and no sound restrictions I may put myself on reserve list.
All my own opinion, but I am a bit rusty at the moment
