Look in here for local ride outs...

Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

You sure about that?. Couldn't find it on their website. Theres very few working fixed cameras in Avon and Somerset and the ones that do work are the taller digital type, not the old gatso type that requires film putting in them. It may still flash but that don't mean a lot.

List of all camera sites (fixed and mobile), mobile dates and operating areas can be found here............

Good link, and you're right, it's not on their website. However, it exists, it's been there for years, is well known, and is listed on this site - http://www.speedcameramap.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Zoom in to the A303 West of Ilminster, follow it to Buckland St Mary and you'll see it plain as day.
I used 'Gatso' as a generic, but It'll be a Digital Camera allright, it's taller and smaller and whether it flashes or not, I don't take chances there - everywhere else maybe :)): .
Almost the entire A303/A30 from just west of Ilminster to the start of the Honiton by-pass is a 50 mph limit but the camera by the Eagle Tavern X roads is the only fixed one.

It's one of the few that are actually at accident blackspots. There have been quite a few nasty prangs there with people pulling out in front of lorries when they get frustrated at being sat at the crossroads for a long time.

Travelling that way regularlarly lately, I've never found the road clear enough to be doing more than the limit through there anyway ........
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....
