SO YOUR BIKE WON'T START EH!!

Well what can I say, still f_ _ _ all. The new solinoid clicks over rapidly, but with that the rev counter goes up to the three thousand revs position. I have just about given up. Any of you guys mechanically / electrically aware and live around the Bristol area and want to have a go you are quite welcome. Id gladly pay somebody for their time. As it is a non starter I cant take it anywhere. Very pi_ _sed off now so I'm going to have a sherbert

Sorry speedy, tied up with work and all that crap, plus been off line for a while, Got the bike sorted in the end, had a last dashed attempt at changing all the cables (batery to solinoid and solinoid to starter) pressed the button and yehaa im cooking on gas!! Tightened the chain up and took her out for a good well earned spin. Chuffed to bits. quick polish and now she is ready (just in time for the big freeze!!!!!) Thanks again to andy for all the advice and particular thanks to speedy for the offer of help, very much appreciated (as I was starting to let the thing get to me), it just perks you up a bit when guys on the forum, you have never met go out their way to offer assistance. Great stuff. Regards to all with a bit of luck will bump into some of u soon (not literally as i am sure that would hurt)andrew wrote:have to say gerogie-d has helped as much as he could and has been more than generous in feeding my alcohol habit![]()
aidy - to save u spending any more money I would suggest testing the solenoid with a multimeter.
If u don't know how to use the meter tho then try and change the starter solenoid with one u know that works - if that still doesn't work let me know and i'll come up with some more ideas. Also i will try and have a look at my GPX manual tonight and see if I can spot anything else in the wiring diagram that could be at fault.
regards
aidy
