exactly what happened not sure i understand. Why did the rear wheel lock up? And even when it did why did that cause u to crash?
Still it sounds like the bike came of quite lightly
i was hoping someone could tell me to be honest, u know when u break hard into a bend and im sure at some point uve kicked it down a gear with not enough revs abd the rear end locks up and snakes? well it done that accept i wasnt breaking, and i went down as the road was as slippery as fook and i was on a gradual bend. after i picked it up and rode it home it cut out twice, and sounded more like a KTM with race pipes, not how it should sound.

Maybe the engine (which might've been carb icing? If you HAVE carbs) stalled on ya, certainly second gear at 15 miles an hour is gonna be all but tick over anyway.
Sorry to hear about that. Bring it out in the spring, hose it down, scrub and polish it - you'll find the damage doesn't look so bad.

if it was running roughly and misfiring on any cylinders itd just have been a bit of extra engine braking locking up the wheel. If it stalled or cut out as you changed gears, then when you released the clutch it could have locked the wheel, and if you were on a greasy road and keeled over then probably why you slid it
was it a right hander? if so youd probably have caught the silencer as it went down. just check that the link pipe hasnt pulled out of the headers a bit on the impact - might explain the extra noise.

yeah it went down on the right, i checked the exhaust, it looked like it was just scratchd, but it was dark and it needs a proper inspection.
yourll all right about the crash mushrooms, £60 well spent, just some scratches but deep ones wont really bother me i shall just ride her looking not so pretty

I did same thing on my gsxr600 once I was doing 15mph ish and hit diesel as I was getting on the gas (carefully for once) and away it went.
My old Gsxr use to suffer badly at this time of the year from carb Icing maybe yours is doing the same ?

Don't think I've told anyone yet but I've dropped my bike twice.
Both times were about 2mph whilst I was pushing it, 1st time did no damage as it went down on grass, second time I slipped whilst putting her away & it fell against the door, put 2 lovely digs in the tank
