Used to go there with my dad in the 60/70's and watch Drag racing...
Think they still do Kart racing there...

maybe worth a phone call
the road through the air field is pretty cracking is wanted to do a rideout using that road

The Run what you Brung at RAF Portreath is usually twice a year...July and September I think it was last year but the organisation was appalling so unless they buck their ideas up for this year then is could be a very disappointing turnout. I know that the First and Last MCC won't be doing the marshalling this year.

Yeah Portreath's not a bad run...ive heard from some guys that i teach, that you can go up there anytime and pay like a fiver to take part in events, well races basically. To the end, round a cone and back....winner takes all.
Well its the cone that would mess me up, but hey in a straight line!

Ive started leaning the bike a lot more now and taking better lines through corners, but im very dubious of leaning when it comes to 3 things...the road wet, white arrows that are on my line, or big drain covers.
Do these things have as big an impact as i think, dont really want to go to far incase i find out

Almost came off tonight....3 manholes in a row, on a bend , in the rain whilst trying to wipe the rain off my visor.
Tell you what guys i have very little confidence in the rain you know, fine in the dry but that bloody wet stuff does me every time

you get used to it - its good to go out for a ride in the rain though, helps you focus but its a basterd to clean your bike afterwards...

yes they do, definately keep the bike upright as possible going over manhole covers, and white markings, and whatever you do dont brake on them in the wet.
Drain covers are lethal.
The short section of twisty road that leads down to the Mountbattan pub in plymouth from fort stamford is a great example: its almost as though someone designed it with manhole covers marking the best line apex points.
