Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

To finish with we can stop at any pubs in that rough area if you like.
I think the locals of Upottery, Yarcombe and Newcott might be offended by referring to them as 'Rough', I always thought they were quite picturesque ;) ..................

BTW, w'ass pitcherskew mean Mr Badger Zir? Cas'n find'in in th' English-Deb'n dickshinurry :?:
I think it means there's often a local man in a smock, chewing on a piece of straw with a pint 'o Zider in his hand, hanging around when tourists are taking photo's ;) .

Looks to me like like A30 to one of the terrible pub thingies.
Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?

A30 leave Chard High Street heading north up Snowden Hill (still on A30), 2 miles then right at Pretty Oak, 2.5 miles to junction with A303, you'll see there's one of them there dreaded pub things right in front of you - it's the Eagle Tavern. When you're in that immediate area beware the evil gatso on that junction, northern side.

you'll be fine. as we are crossing the road there and the gatso points the other way it will be zero issue unless you get it massively wrong

It isn't decommisioned and was a 'beware for the future' for the possible future info' of any grockemmets out there who didn't know about it. Devon & Somerset's finest need their canteen fund topping up regularily.

It's a piece of wotsit for you getting home from the Eagle Tavern Mark :P .
Just keep on keeping on on the B road alongside the pub towards Taunton and Wellinton for around 5 miles, over a X roads, until you come to a T junction, then turn right past the Holman Clavel pub, half a mile, then straight on at the crossroads and keep going - and going - and going, past Wellington Monument, lots of bends now - beware the extreme right at Wrangway Cross - over the top of the M5 and straight across at X roads onto a (very) minor road for 300 yards and then turn left onto the A38 which will take you past the Maidendown Stage, Morgans Cafe and on to Waterloo Cross, turn left and you're virtualy home. Basicaly you're heading across the Blackdown Hills and except for the A38 bit it's all virtualy empty B roads :D .
'Course 'The Pres' may have already decided that's the way he's going; but if not, I'm happy to show that way to anyone who wants to head back to e.g. Honiton/East Devon, Taunton, Wellington, Willand, Cully, Tivvy and/or all points N. E. or W of the Eagle Tavern.
