oh dear I find yself actualy agreeing with Furry
dunlops = crap
macadams= ok for milage but lack grip
bridgestones = great tyre only fault I ever had with them was I didn't feel the front steered fast enough.
Diablos= bloody fantastic all round but I am lucky to get 1300 miles out of a rear
Age
p.s getting your suspension set up right is very important.

dunlops are crap because of lack of feel from the front I never felt happy with them. when they were worn out I put on a set of bridgestones (bt56) and went alot faster.

I put money on it that the new pilots that michelin have just bought out will be top this year,
i definatley agree: that for the road i have not used a better tyre than the diablos, and for the road i wouldnt even bother with the corsa's as the diablo are better in the wet, but the corsa's do heat up quicker. you wouldn't notice much difference on the road between the two,
with the corsa's on my blade i actually got my fairing and engine casing down on circuit last year, once they have the heat in em they wont let you down, untill you have the engine casing, pegs and fairing down and there is actually NO rubber on the track, in which case, i pushed my luck a bit!

Agreed with the suspension comment, but I had metzlers on my Thunderace which were really crap and changed them to D207's and they were the best tyres I ever had on it, the front end was planted and you could do anything with it.
Everyone rides in a different style too, so perhaps its "ones mans meat is another man poison" .............. ultimately its a case of try it and see which work best for you

as aragorn says everyone has a different riding style which will suit different tyres. Also some tyres don't work well on some bikes - as age points out the 020s are relatively slow steering which will make more of a difference on his duke than it will my heavy old trumpet
I know there are lots of grippier tyres out there but for me its a compromise and a grippy tyre that lasts 1300 miles is no good when u do a 3000 mile tour of europe of even a 1500 mile trip to the nurburgring.

Tis all those bleady wheelies and burnouts to blame for that one! LOL
I use Bog Standard Diablos front and back...on my TL the last back one did between 4000-5000 miles...so they do last very well...I expect Age has gone for one of the other types of Diablo on the rear...which to start off with don't have as much thread on them anyway!
Diablos are my first experience of Pirelli...always used Bridgestones before that...but they are bloody fantastic they work well on the TL worth trying them if you've got a big and/or powerful machine

bloody hell furry is that normal mileage for you? don't think i've ever got more than 3500 miles.
Anyone else got good mileage from Diablos? If so what speed / riding style do you have.

I got about 4,000 miles out of mine on the gix, But I did swap it in a few miles early due to a puncture.

Alot of those miles were motorway at fast speeds so prolly why it lasted longer...
I will add though...that when I changed that tyre...it was down to the metal LOL
Even so for town/twisties use should still see well over 3000 from one of em...and it's not like they are that expensive either
PS : Baaaaa MCN bunch of girls!
