The traffic jam we encountered that forced us to turn back appears to be an accident of the worst kind
Motorcyclist killed in collision
A motorcyclist died in a collision with a car on the A38 in Menheniot in Cornwall on Sunday morning.
The accident happened on the westbound carriageway at the junction with the road to Looe.
The 26-year-old motorcyclist was given emergency treatment at the scene, but died from his injuries.
Two elderly people in a Ford Fiesta were taken to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
Thats the third accident I've seen at that junction this year. Take care along that stretch of road folks.

Is this the same junction which was upgraded to improve the layout of the road. ????

I think so.
I still cant understand why at that speed of road people are allowed to turn across 2 lanes of traffic.

Just read it in the paper he was from Callington thoughts to his family.
That junction is mad like Jase said how they can let traffic cross two lanes of a fast road. Ann worked in the factory near there and at least 10 people have died there if not more put a bloody roundabout in it's not rocket science. Sorry to rant but a friend of a friend died there.

Taken from the Evening Herald
A 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he was in collision with a car on the A38 near Liskeard yesterday.
The man, who police say was from Callington, died at the scene after receiving CPR from paramedics. The elderly occupants of the car - a Ford Fiesta - were taken by ambulance to Derriford Hospital with minor injuries.
The accident happened on the westbound carriageway of the A38 at the junction with the B3252 to Looe at about 9.40am yesterday.
Police immediately closed both lanes of the westbound carriageway and set up diversions for motorists heading towards Liskeard. The eastbound carriageway remained open, although the police experienced problems with drivers slowing down to look at the crash scene.
Traffic heading in the Liskeard direction built up as far back as Castle Motors at Trebrown, according to police. The road was completely re-opened at 4.30pm after police crash scene investigators had examined the scene.
Police have not named the motorcyclist yet, but identification was expected today after his next-of-kin have been informed.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact the police on 08452 777444, quoting reference number 407 of September 18.
