Completely echo the opinions before (except for the [Censored] and tossers comments!). Anyone should be given constructive criticism if its going to save there life! I know I’m not the fastest ever (both mentally, physically and whilst riding) so I don’t try to ride like Rossi. And as for the tw@t with the bald tyres, what a fcuking idiot!

I think its worth remembering that the idiots who caused those accidents didn't do it intentionally.

The Blue ZX9 guy had clearly made no attempt to try and learn correct road positioning or how to ride a bike round a bend which made him dangerous to himself - and I have to say I have seen some dodgy lines taken by swb members (one of the disadvantages of following age )- and now you've all said how happy u all are to receive criticism I will be sure to make lots of comments at the next ride-out (btw i am not happy to receive ANY criticism )

The thing that caused both crashes tho was trying to keep up / race with other riders. NEVER TRY TO KEEP UP!!

andrew is spot on. Don't try to race or keep up it's not a pride thing people will respect you more if you ride slower and safer instead of fast and dangerous. The problem is we still have this speed culture about us, just read any bike forum and it's nearly always about how fast I rode today or how far over I was in that bend and any mods we do to our bikes is usually to get a bit more speed from them. This just instills into any new to biking people that in order to be one of the boys they have to be fast and keep up other wise they loose face and the fast peeps will take the piss. And I think thats why we have poeple like Mr blue zx9r.

Not only that, it ruins your own ride as well if you try to keep up, I havent been riding as long as some of the people I ride with but I find if I ride for myself rather than trying to keep up with the front lot I have a much better time. As long as you get off at the end with a smile on your face then you have done it right!

Absolutely !!!!

I don't care if I can't keep, most of our rideouts are okay and usually everyone is considerate, but I've noticed there have been a few riders who are not.... There seems to be a unwritten pecking order on a rideout and I'm comfortable being somewhere in the middle to back, it only goes pearshaped when someone messes around with that order, say there is a rider that should be at the front but finds it amusing to hang back on occasions, let everyone go past and then work their way to the front again, I can tell you it unerves the less experienced riders and p$sses off the others, I'm not sure why they do it but wish they wouldn't. Tis my only gripe

That's right A_T .
What you are trying to say if you are a Darksider know your place at the back. (I forget sometimes).
Just ride your own ride and if others want to race ahead don't try to keep up stay back and keep the Darksiders company.

i dont really try to get up front to pass people, most of the time i am happy sat at the back as i dont like people watching me ride (and i am slow) as i am crap but trouble is i have a bloody weak bladder and all of a sudden i need a 'p' and then i cant wait

perhaps they just want to hang back for a while and slow down nothing wrong with that. They shouldnt be then blasting past everyone mind. the problem might be in differing definitions of what is blasting past, one mans sensible overtake is anothers nutcase manouvre...

I know one thing I can be guilty of its riding quite close to people and I sometimes forget that can intimidate if your not used to it. Its not because Im desperately trying to get past its just habit.

be sure that it is always to the outside of the rider mind and also you could take it as a compliment - I dont ride close to people if i think there riding is unpredictable.

never makes me nervous Jason - well at least not while you're on 2 wheels, when are you going to fix your bikes weight distribution problem

I may also be guilty of intimidating less experienced riders before when I've gone to a back of a group to make sure we hadn't lost anyone and then worked my way back upto the front. Its not intentional but looking back I could have passed people more sympathetically.

If i've ever scared anyone then I apologise (unless i was on a 125 in which case i was following the example set by all the 17 year olds out there as I understand riding like a tw8t is compulsory )

I dont think its intimidating unless when your overtaking you cut up the person in front, as long as the person overtaking respects the front persons lines then its just normal and generally thats what happens when you go out with bikes! No one expects when your faster to just sit behind and get bored, otherwise there isnt much point.
