So....let's get this straight................................................ if YOUR child was killed by a police car driving at an absolutely ridiculous speed in a built up area, BUT you found out he was answering a 999 call, you'd say " on well, can't be helped"?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I've had my say, so I'm going to leave this thread alone now... but...

I would like to ask people (most of whom haven't been here long themselves) to stop turning every thread on here into personal attacks on others.

Another over blown flower pot, full of his own self importance. Unfortunately some amongst us seem to feel thier opinion is the only one that matters, its a shame that they have to resort to personal insults to get their views across, which as I understand it is purely an attention seeking method. As I see it, its gone from the fact a child died, to who said what and when. I didn't join the debate to be insulted or for my own self importance off the back of this kids death.

Can I just ask, am I the only one who has sympathised with the cop ?

Have a look, and you'll see that I am not.

Interestingly, they haven't been addressed.

I knew that Cheesy Monkey wouldn;t comment on these comments because he's spineless, but perhaps someone else would like to.

Look forward to it.

At least this cop had a motive... so he was wrong not having Blues and 2's on... I repeat... ACCIDENT
Maver-Nick wrote:Extremely sad but true... she should have taken care crossing a road, I mean, did she not hear a car travelling at 90mph? ... in my view she's as guilty as the cop.
deej wrote:actually agree with you on those points, what ever happened to look right left right before crossing the road. if it was at night then the car would have head lights on 8) 8)

god am i sticking up for a copper

The measure of someone's inteligence can be gauged by the inverse of the time it takes for him/her to resort to abuse and bullying as a debating technique. Of course, it can also be indicative of a spoilt brat!

It really is fine to hold opposing views in a civilised, plural society as long as you express them with courtesy and respect for others who take a different view. Nothing is gained by hurling gratuitous insults at those who take a different view, except perhaps a loss of ones own credibility.

If you wish to advertise the fact that you have both an intolerence of diverse opinion and a low IQ the most expeditious manner of doing so is to post aggressively and abusively on an internet forum. Well done Mr. Stately, you have spoken succinctly and eloquently.

May I respectfully suggest that if you wish to cast aspersions on the inteligence of others using the written word, you may wish to invest in a copy of Roget's Thesaurus. Just a friendly word of advise to help you avoid further embarrassment.

One of the things I have always liked about bikers, and in my case this goes back to the Mods and Rockers of the 60s, is their general good nature and civil tolerence of others. This is often reflected in the bikers forums, perhaps you might take the time to observe this phenomenon. :)

I would suggest to you that you have conveniently decided to overlook the tirade of insults that have been launched in my direction, but that's no less than I'd expect.

Tell you what, shall I post them up so you can also bring into question their intelligence ?

Nah

Didn't think so

Still, I completely agree with what Mervin said, he put it very well. I'm just wondering when you're going to realise that we're all laughing at you

Interestingly, my reading of Mikes post is that the part that you picked on was a general comment rather than one directed at you. The comments directed specifically at you were later

Ah I see.

So he wasn't suggesting that I was bullying or resorting to abuse.

Sorry I misunderstood and I'm glad that has been cleared up :D
