There are so many, I thought I would seek recommendations on what you guys use.

I looking for something I can move between helmets. I know the basic such as speaker, ear piece will remain. I am also concerned about being able to hear anything when going at speed. I ride unfaired bikes so helmet noise could be an issue but seeing some with noise cancelling, does this help with wind noise?

Always hear good things about the
Sena and cardo systems.

Personally got a cheapie £25 from ebay just for music.
Works well enough for what I need but don't know about the comms side.

I've got the sena 20s bought the duel set for the other half for her helmet but as she doesn't come out anymore I've 2 helmets set up I can hear perfectly well at 70 in my AGV which isn't the quietest helmet

I've also got an ebay cheapie (mainly for music).
I can take phone calls or do intercoms up to about 50mph on my naked (70'ish on my Adventure bike) before the wind noise becomes an issue.
At 60 on my Adventure bike the person calling me normally doesn't even realize I'm riding but at 70 they can tell.

I have been looking into what system to eventually upgrade to and it seems some Sena systems get criticism (from some youtubers) for not being very waterproof, Cardo seem to be better here.

Group compatibility is another issue but one way around this is for all members of your group to have a data plan on their phones and then use something like whatsapp or discord to make a group call, that way you don't have to all have compatible intercoms and then deal with set up hassles.

I don't like to talk to people when I'm riding so have never bothered.

Ditto - ish. Never grew up with it, never found the need since. In my view one's concentration on a bike is best spent concentrating on what's happen and what might happen, not getting distracted.

You just don't have any friends to talk to

My own experience has been fairly positive. I bought a Sena SMH10 double pack from the USA 10 years ago and it's still going strong. I've been caught in some horrendous rain and it's never faltered. Always connects to the one my wife has, although connecting to other riders can be a bit hit and miss. I play music when not in a group chat and find I can have a conversation up to about 70mph with the flip front down. With it up there's a lot of wind noise for the others listening, so only do that around town. Mates have changed to Cardo ones as they feel they're more reliable over bigger distances - mine loses connection after about 500 metres.
For reference I've been riding a naked bike for 4 years and it's been fine

Personally never a problem with water with my sena had 2 days of rain coming back from Italy last year, also it connects to my sat nav giving me warnings change in speed limits and cameras

I hear very good things about the Sena range and most people on here or with intercoms seem to use them. However I personally decided to go a different route. I went for an X-Lite helmet and they make a purpose made intercom called the N-Com system. I have found it work really well and is fantastic at connecting with others as well as the bike and the phone. You can also use an APP that helps you to sort out connections and you can even connect to FM radio through it. it was like the bloody krypton factor getting the thing in the helmet but once in place has not budged or missed a beat. if your interested I did a YouTube Video the unboxing and fitting. I use Cardo packtalk. Very good system with good range between bikes.
