Every other post at the moment is a sad case of Biker Down

The same seems to happen every spring. Over excited throttle happy brothers & sisters who think they can just climb on board & gas it like they did last summer or try & play catch-up with their mates.

It takes time to rebuild your skills & if you feel unsafe or wonder how on earth you made it round the last corner then for Gods sake SLOW DOWN. It's not a computer game you can get hurt.

The weather forecast is for a warm sunny bank holiday weekend and We'll probably all be out at some point and I for One don't want to hear of any more serious injuries or fatalities

No wonder the European Parliament are trying to legislate Bikes out of existence.

You are never gonna stop peeps riding like jerks, they will only learn the hard way like us old man have. Lets just hope and prey they learn and stay alive.

Theres already been about 3 fatal accidents on other forums I visit and countless other very near fatal. Happens every year around this time, the weather just gets into peoples heads and sends them crazy.

I agree, always the same with summer riders. Keep within your limits guys as you will lose practise if you don't ride many miles throughout the year. And FFS don't ever try and keep up with people, ride your own ride.

As everyone knows there is an absolute sure way of amplifying your chance of crashing one hundred fold:

- follow someone who is riding at a pace faster than you normally ride yourself.

I dont think this has much to do with summer riders or how many miles you do or dont do - it applies to us all.

let stupid bikers ride like muppets,as long as they crash and hurt themselves and themselves only,let them get on with it.

Hopefully get all the muppet bikers off the road now and have a good clean summer for normal bikers to enjoy.

My work is relatively dangerous, so when I ride my bike I like to pootle along, take in the scenery and work on my skills. Chill out really.

I think most fwsbr's don't really enjoy riding their bikes. Well, they always ride as fast as they possibly can from a to b, spending more time at pit stops, talking about heart-stopping/trouser filling moments, than riding. Seems to me they can't wait to get off their back-breaking, wrist straining bikes.

That's why they're better at parking than I am. I don't like to stop once I get going. I like riding my bike, not parking it.

Took me a while to work out why their one piece leathers almost always have baggy bums.

like ripples on a pond - an incident or accident NEVER effects only one person...

even if the person had no family and no other vehicle was involved you have the passers by, any first aider, the paramedics, police etc. and THEIR friends and families - no matter what we think of them they sometimes have to do a [Censored] hard job picking up the pieces.

guess what proffession has the highest rate of divorce in the country...




traffic officers - closely followed second by... surprisingly paramedics.

(many of you may be surprised by such as post coming from me - but then... what do you actually know about me)

That could be for any number of reasons ; maybe because they have a disproportionately high amount of wife beaters in that profession or that the type of people that the job attracts are naturally more likely to be atagonistic and difficult to live with.

why the fark are you giving me a lecture on seeing grim sights and mental effects on seeing such things?

I went to 3 bike deaths about 6 months ago in Westonzoyland near Bridgy so dont gimme that crap.

hell i will even show you some photos when we meet if ya want......one person was so messed up....all i could tell was the person was white and didn't have a clue whether it was male or female.

yeah its always someones son/daughter,father/mother/cousin/best man at wedding/best friend/neighbour/x partner.
