Yep, coming home on outland road, filtered between 2 cars, hear a siren and an ambulance is coming from behind so i pull in front of the car to my left, he pulls forward and clips the left side of my swingarm with the corner of his bumper, knocking the bike over

Ask him to pull over in the bus stop to check and swap details and e tell me he's in a rush and can't stop long.........."i don't give a [censored] mate, you just hit me and i want you details"

Anyway, pulls over and i checked the bike, scrached the crash bung and added some scrathes to the mirrors and indicator......and got some silver bumper plastic on the axle end, few scratches on his bumper and thats it so i didn't bother with details

He was making excuses and to be fair I was filtering so i left it

I managed to hop of the bike as it went down, like you do, so i'm OK

I would have said ok drive off but i got your number and picked out my phone and phoned the old bill, and got the other people aroundas witnesses

true merv but ash was filtering so he wouldn't of had much come back as the police haven't quite accepted that bikers can do that, people are slowly winning cases even though they were filtering so it is looking upon that front.

Hang On a min, filtering is a total legal move. Its even in the Road Policing Manual as a manoevour.

If you dont filter on an Advance Test, normally its a failure, as you are not making progress.

mmmmmm...... well i haven't got as much exp as u guys and u was an instuctor, i get all my knowledge from mags and newspapers, and i deff don't have as much road riding exp as u lot considering the time lengh i've been riding!!!!

Failing to stop after an accident is serious offence no matter who is in the wrong, You have to exchange details with the other driver no matter what,
if no one is injured the police do not need to be involved and will not be interested, I reported a minor accident once and the reply from the police was, "Have you exchanged details with the other driver?" to which i replied "yes" answer was " yuo have complied with the law sir" and that was the end of the conversation

I think in this situation you have to weigh up your chances of making a successful claim, whether it would end up being a 50/50 and how much it would cost to fix it yourself.

You then balance that up against the fact that the insurance co is gonna put your premiums up if you win and put them up even more if you lose or it is 50/50 and I guess sometimes it is better to walk away with a clean record.

id be having none of that.
but some times its easyer not to get the insurence involved so i would have give him the option of paying for the repairs or take it all the way. call his bluff!
flitering is not a crime!
