Claims?
Ok I'm not trying to rip the system off completely but....
I was coming home after a night dive on wednesday and it was absolutely p*ssing it down. I came up Peverell Park Road and didnt quite see the new traffic calming at the end. as a result I clipped the kerb, me and bike said our bye byes and I went the opposite way. Result is my arai's seen better days so had to buy a new one and the bike needs new engine cover, front wheel and fairing. Now I thought oh well my own fault and everything until I spoke to me girlfriends dad.
He came up there during the day and hit it in the car because he hadnt seen it and I spoke to someone in work thats caught it in the car.
There are no warning signs for it and the prats put car parking spaces there too so if anyones parked there you cant see it until your a few feet away.
I wanted to try and make a claim for damages to the council, now I have a really sore neck and shoulder but I dont want to claim for that. All I want is the money for a new lid and to get the bike fixed.
Does anyone know who I could contact? Tried looking online at no win no fee but it's all for personal injury

Contact the city council, and ask for the highways dept. You need to speak to the local highways inspector for that area.
I hit a pothole (150mm deep
) hidden beneath snow a couple of years ago (in my car) splitting the tyre against the wheel rim and they (East Devon Council) paid for a new tyre

Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....
Handle stressful situations like a dog - If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away

Would it not be asked how the bike was damaged and if you are claiming off that person? Although I guess with data protection and confidentiality that wont matter.
Moose is correct, speak to the highways department first before you start legal gubbings as they have a duty to keep public roads etc in a safe condition, they may well come to some arrangement before legal proceedings.

yea thanks for all your help I contacted white dalton solicitors who told me to go ahead but it wouldnt be cost effective them representing me so basically they told me how to go about it myself. AT gave me the address to contact and I contacted surepass today who will give me a quote for damages so it's worth a go. I really hate claiming but I cant afford to fix it plus I could easily go Dr's and claim for personal injury but im not going to only think I'm interested in is getting the bike fixed.
Thanks Everyone and yea baskie I know I havnt been on here for ages I'm just so busy with uni I dont seem to have time for much!
