after a loong time waiting my xs frame's finally done!! had a pic through from the guy who's been converting it to a rigid frame for me so hopefully will be able to pick it up soon and get going on it!!

It's mocked up here with standard xs running gear but will be wearing a fzr400exup front end and as-yet undecided rear but probably a tzr or similar. I've accumilated most of the rest of it - sprung seat and mountain bike shock, tank, electrics, carbs etc so now the fun bit begins!!

not bad, classic frame lines, ie headstock to axle

I see it with maybe sportster tank sat high on the top tube, straightish bars, pegs in position similar to original, gives that squatting with straight arms out to wideish bars

shorty rear guard and side mount light/plate etc, just helps keep it clean,

drag pipes one each side, maybe follow the frame back to where it kicks up, make the bike look a little longer, hidden wiring and switches etc

maybe mattblack with glossblack flames, or mattblack with mattblack and some flake added for the flames, that way they only visible when the bikes at the right angle in the sun

but matt black is biatch to keep, so maybe just a satin black with red or white flames

close - 3 gallon mustang sat fairly level on the toptube, fairly low risers with low-rise superbike bars, forwards not regular pegs though (6ft3 so legroom a consideration!!). spot on with the bobbed guard and plate/light though, and close with the pipes - just a set of wrapped short drag pipes exiting under the back of the motor
add to the list a sprung seat damped with a mtb shock.
and just plain old black - undecided yet whether att, satin or gloss but definitely darker than a cows guts whatever!!

age - its a kickstart - lots of bikes used to have them before decimilisation

ok so not too far out, personally think you would be better with a sportster tank but each to their own.

you making your forwards? as I got rose joints etc here should you need them, remember to mount the rear brake MC as close to the front pedal as poss.

I made my own forwards from scratch, easy to do and looks better that way, gimme a shaout if you need any bits as I might have them or know someone who has, got all sorts of crap laying around LOL

looking ok mate not personally my thing im a sports bike man but fair play, when do you think it will be on the road ?

i'm not one to rush things - a six week strip/rebuild on my gixxer ended up being 18 months I've still got to get the gilera and the rd done, and going to be doing a subframe swap and rewire on the gsxr too. plus I'm fitting this in round a 3 hour round trip to work and a couple of days a week in cardiff at the moment so time's a bit limited. especially when i was supposed to have retiled the bathroom and various other jobs round the house by now

Ah well buddy - Rome wasn't built in a day! Can't wait to see what the RD is like when you've finished!
