Hi all my brother is looking at getting a Jinlun 125 Cruiser bike as its cheap to run.has anybody ever had one or riden one.are they good bikes or do they always let you down etc.Here is a pic of one he likes the look off.

yep, rode it all the way to john o'groats and back too. just have to make sure the electrics are well protected as they are a little exposed to the rain

Same as his Dads. Make sure free chaps are included with the sale or at least some tassels.

They're fine when they work but its hit and miss due to the shoddy build quality. Make sure you have warranty and some form of free breakdown recovery

I got my son a Samurai 125 when he was 17 and needed work transport and if i am honest the quality is total crap. He is on his fourth exhaust repair/replacement as the metal is so thin around the welds and the silencers so heavy. Interestingly it has been the same silencer that has gone every time, the one on the other side has been fine. Chrome peeled off from the kickstart and other places on the chromed engine covers, Rubber breather hoses have perished in under a year, the clocks had to be replaced as they packed in, but the worst so far was we had to take it back as a rear engine mount just broke off and had to be welded back on. The fit of the fairing panels is not good and they have all rubbed against each other so for me i find it hard to recommend a chinese bike to anyone but then it was only £1200 brand new and as we all know, you get what you pay for but it has proved reliable in that it starts every time every day............

with what i know about chinese scooters i'd do the same as the main dealers and stay well away from them, theyre cheap for a reason and quite difficult to get replacement parts for. the build quality isnt great but you get what you pay for

My girlfriends mum has had one for over 2 years and shes never had any probs go wrong with it about from the normal wear and tear ie tyres and break pads

parts are getting a lot easier, there is a place over near Woodbury that specialises in chinese bikes and they reckon they can get most parts in a couple of days if not stocked, suppose as they get more popular parts will be easier to find and they are a bit of a bargain as far as depreciation goes, keep it a year get £600 part exchange on a £1200 new bike and you have lost £600. Buy and Aprillia or the new Yamaha for £3000 and after a year expect around £2000 a dealer told me and you are still £400 better off with the chinese bike..........

I had one and took my test on it they are nice bikes to ride i never had any major issues with it and the parts are easy to get and are cheap. The jinluns have quite a large following and have a great owners forum where if you do get a problem everyone on there are willing to help out
