wheres does everyone go to get hold of their end of season gear for cheap? and when is the end of season? im looking to upgrade all my second hand/scuff/crashed gear for next year and there must be a time of year (like any other product) when stock has to be gotten rid of in big sales

or events where companies produce their stands and stalls with good bargains etc etc, like the NEC show. think i missed that one tho? :)

The NEC show is at the end of November I believe, though it's not what it's cracked up to be, neither is the London show, I've worked at both of them pretty much every year since 2000.

Once upon a time you could pick up some great deals at the shows, but the stands are so bloody expensive to hire now many traders simply can't afford to do super deals. If you know exactly what you want you might get a result, but much of the cheap stuff on offer at shows is just crap anyway.

Just shop around looking for sales.

is there such a thing these days ?

most shops only stock a small amount and can get stuff next day delivery
nec is early november but the deals arent like they used to be due to the high costs of a pitch and not making much if any profit at all,its a bit of a loss leader for most
ally pally used to be the place in early january but thats gone the same way as the nec

if you want cheap gear try the george white retail centre in swindon, mainly frank thomas stuff but good reductions

I always look to buy bike gear, and indeed bikes for that matter, around the end of January or early February when the tumble weed is blowing through the bike dealerships and they haven't seen a customer for weeks! They are usually keen to do good deals just to take some money at all!
