having the suspension set up by webber, made it into a completely different bike, handled so much better.

in terms of value for money got to be having my suspension set up by peak performance. £40 for it set for your weight and type of riding (I have mine with two different setups rather than a comprimised setup, so a set of settings for road and a set of settings for track and I switch it between the two)...as billinom8s says having your suspension setup properly makes a huge difference.

in terms of bolt on stuff...I love rearsets and gilles VCR's are more adjustable than the most adjustable adjustable thing that was ever adjustable. first thing I ditch on new bikes is the stock footpegs.

Ooh, dunno where to start - bars from a comfort perspective, exhausts - 'cos you've gotta let a twin breath  , suspension - 'cos the original is a little harsh  , brakes - 'cos the originals didn't  , PCII to make it fuel better ....... there's a long list and it's hard to pick one above the other really as they all add up to the whole :D

I suppose if you had to pick just one, the exhausts would have to be first, because you can't have a twin and not hear that boom

Only did 1 mod to my bike (other than chucking it down the road), and that was a double bubble screen, only a small mod yes but it made riding it so much more enjoyable

3) Tweaking my suspension.

For me I would have to say the TRE i bought, completely changed the slow speed handling of the bike and opened up the top end too ;)

Best 25 pound spent.

A difficult one, as I've done so many to the ZRX. The bigger motor conversion was good start, then better with even bigger Wiseco pistons and even better with a bank of Mikuni TMR flatslides from Japan and a fully ported head job. The full Yoshi system unleashed more power and sounds fantastic. The Ohlins R&T forks and Ohlins rear shock certainly improved the handling. The Marchesini wheels definitely helped in that department too, although a 6 inch rear rim would be better than the 5.5 one that's fitted. Stopping was improved with oversize 320mm discs and some Brembo HPK radial calipers and Brembo radial mastercylinder.
On my Z1000J replacing the running gear with wheels and forks from a GSXR1000K4 has improved it hugely along with Harris adjustable yokes and clipons, oversize 320mm discs and Brembo HPK calipers and a pair of radial mastercylinders, JMC arm and Ohlins monoshock conversion is better. The motor has been improved with a Wiseco 1075cc kit (soon to become 1170cc) and a full Dom Trickett porting job on the head and stainless valves, with Yoshi cams and Mikuni RS38 flatslides, and Dyna ignition with an Akra system from a Blandit 12 that Ive grafted onto it. A conversion to a hydraulic clutch makes life easier with the APE heavy duty clutch set up. Single seat conversion means I get to enjoy it without any complaints from anyone else.
