All preferences aside and from a neutral viewpoint, what has the best performance (top speed, power to weight ratio handling), the ZZR-1400 or the GSX-1300 Hayabusa?

Yes it's ok if you like ugly ( quick ) bikes

I'd say the ZZR, the gsx looks very nice in the black and orange colour scheme they do but the tail section lets the whole bike down. It did on the old one as well so don't know why suzuki kept it on the new one

I'd go for the Kwak personally ....... I've quite fancied it since they came out

It'd be awesome if you could graft a ZX10 front onto it

The new Busa is a lot more difficult to tune for big power gains than the older Busa, the ZZR has a lot of potential if you want to see one in action Tim Blakemore of Tim Blakemore Racing in Bristol is drag racing a Superstreet class ZZR14 and will be using a ZZR14 motor in his funnybike chassis this year as a progression from his ZX12 powered bike which was the first funnybike in the UK to acheive a 200mph terminal speed over the quarter mile. The 12 was punting out around 750BHP at the wheel, the 14 will be around the same but easier to do and more reliable.
He usually attends the Kawasaki day at The Ace Cafe as part of his official sponsorship deal from Kawasaki.

Er, I think you all miss the meaning of my question. I wasn’t meaning the aesthetics of the bike, because I know that we all have different tastes. Nor was I meaning the performance of heavily customised versions of either bike. No, what I was meaning was the performance of the raw factory bikes, with maybe their potential for tuning. Can the GSX outperform the ZZR despite it being 100cc down and seemingly being of similar physical size? And what are their braking and handling like when compared to each other?
Oh, and whilst we’re on the subject of looks, aesthetically I prefer the ZZR, especially in black...just. I just like the ZZR's aggressive “insect” looking front end and its kinda Art Deco looking fairings.

Do i take it that you are in the market for a new bike and are trying to decide which to buy?
both bikes have massive performance so i dont think the question for you should be which one do you prefer because you will probably never ride either to its full potential (you will prob tell me different).
I say go for neither and get a BMW K1300S

Not at all, in both respects. I'd consider getting one or the other if I didn't have the bike I've got, or if I ever went for a second bike. Yes, they'd certainly be on my list; those and the Z1000 and the Tuono. And nope, I very much doubt I'd ever get the full power out of the bikes, because I'm not suicidal...yet. I fully expect I'd be able to ride both of them though, with some practice. The question was just through interest because I've been hovering over them in the showrooms for a while now. The GSX looks great but the ZZR looks even better. Then again, the GSX has got the reputation and the hype the ZZR doesn't have.
And nope, I'll never be trading my Tiger 1050 in for a Beemer.

Bit of a job to give a unbiased opinion cause iv allways been a Z fan. I dont think theres much to seperate them on performance but I do think the Busa is ugly

So despite the ZZR having the CCs on the Gixxer they'd still give each other a run for their money on the motorway (

) and the race track?

I guess its a case of aerodynamics vs. looks/weight, and revs vs. grunt

Which is best in terms of aerodynamics, weight, rev and grunt.
