Hel Braided lines.......

Friday after getting the RR MOT'd, John at JCMotorcycles noticed that my Hel lines are showing signs of rust
So i drafted an email too HEL and this is the response...

Jay,
Thanks for your email. This isnt a rusting issue - simply the clear hose (I presume from your mail is on your lines) has allowed water to seep in between the braid and the pvc. This coupled with the fact that the stainless hose is made with baby lotions (I know it sounds weird but its to stop snagging when braiding) creates a milky then in the sun a brown 'rust' looking colour between the hose and the pvc cover. Two remedies :
1 You can remove the pvc cover with a stanley blade and wipe the residue away BUT you wont have covered hoses then.

2 Let me know the make, model, year and colour for the kit with an address and I will send you a brand new set.

Apologies for this but when we swage the fittings on the hose some of the pvc is supposed to be trapped under the ferrule to stop this happening but it seems as though this hasnt happened on yours. All our products have lifetime warranty so please dont worry. Let me know

Happy Days now time too rope someone in to help me fit them when they arrive

Jay

I must say, they really are great guys out there 8)

As they are local, I'd also recommend you go out and see them with cash in your pocket if you need to buy something (if you see what I mean  )

They did me a really (really, really) good deal on the front hoses for mine, and threw in new stainless banjo bolts and bleed nipples too 8)

These guys really are the business. I went over on my bike and the chap measured evrything up to make sure it would all fit neatly, gave me SS bleed nipples etc FOC and gave me a really good deal on price. Outstanding. :D

I think in performance terms, one is as good as the other

I have HEL on the front, and Goodridge on the rear of mine

I have never dealt with Goodridge personally (the rear came through a "third party") but the HEL guys are very helpful 8)

i would say hel as they seem to offer better customer service, goodridge seem to have that big popular company attitude and are priced as such too
