Now I know this aint gonna be everyones cuppa, but this is a member of the Hornets Nest (Gaz) who has built a streetfightered 600 hooner....and while you are sat there thinking "yeah, and...?" the bike and him are featured in StreetFighters Magazine this month, actually made front cover too! And, if that weren't acheivement in itself, he is also the October bike in this years Carole Nash Calender!!!

I must say I do like it, but all the matching helmet and clothes, looks a bit poofy to me. Like something BamBam would do...

have to say i quite liked it.

did make me giggle tho about the obligatory simpson bandit lid.

i think it's awesome that streetfighter riders never need leathers, must be a bonus knowing that cos you ride a mean looking bike you are protected from injury :D :D

seriously tho, really good job on it

Very nice bike. A huge amount of work for this unique look.

Nicely done, and he'll be able to find his bike easily at bike meets when it's parked up in a sea of almost identical R1/6, GSXRs, ZX6/7/9/10, CBRs etc. It's not my particular cup of tea as it's not been modified enough, owning two bikes that have been featured in SF mag and another waiting for photos and 4 more under construction for people I can appreciate the time and effort that has gone into making something unique, which is all about personal choice as is the riding gear that someone chooses to wear. Not everyone wants to wear a leather romper suit and ride a race rep, but that in no way makes them any less than those that do.

Funny you should mention the 'sea of sportbikes..' cos he's got an R6 rear end to put on it over winter!!

To be honest most bike meets bore the arse off me, it's just row upon row of the same sportsbike only differentiated by what can or coloured screen they happen to have fitted. I see it so often at the events I attend with the dyno truck. It's very rare for me to see something that gets my juices flowing so to speak. It doesnt have to be a "Streetfighter" as that particular monika has been over applied, and these days people think that a Blandit with anodised bolts/Renthals and a stubby can and twin spots is a 'fighter. There is a lot more to building a decent fighter/performance special. I've just been putting some more work into a big XJR which will be putting out over 200bhp when I've finished it, plus another 100bhp of gas at the push of a button. but the motor is almost £10,000 alone. I'm just building a Bandit 170bhp 1340 motor for a hardtailed dragstrip refugee, a streetfighter in the original sense of the word in a similar vein to Odgies pink Triumph from 20 odd years ago, one of the bikes that started the whole genre.
I'm also in the middle of a 1070cc FZR genesis motor which will be fitted into a very lightweight chassis with carbon fibre subframe and seat unit etc.
My 400 Katana is back on the bench at long last as I'm building a GSXR1186 turbo lump for it putting out in the region of 250bhp, my ZRX650 is getting a new 1000cc lump which should be around 160bhp and 150kilos. My Z1000J another ex Streetfighters feature bike is getting a complete revamp over winter with a bigger motor and running gear robbed from a Gixxer thou K4, a big old aircooled bruiser with a bad attitude to match it's carbon footprint.
All these bikes will go like greased weasle shiit, and should scare the crap out of the wobbly sunday sportsbike brigade. These are the sort of bikes that get ridden hard rather than getting cleaned and looked at all the time.
They get ridden in jeans, Doc Martens and leather jackets, rather than the latest power ranger outfit. They draw attention whenever they get parked up, they ooze the sort of attitude that bikes should have, and will readily bite you in the testicles if you treat them with anything less than total respect. There's more to bikes than the latest race replica which weighs 0.3 kilos less than last years model, but looks the bloody same.

You can have 500bhp if you want!!!! I've got a set of Pro Mod solenoids that can supply almost 400bhp of gas and fuel, although how long the crank would stay inside the motor is a bit of a lottery
Although you could use a DKE billet stroker crank and Carrillo H beam conrods like the XJR is using....... Only about £4500, then hows about a billet block and oversized forged pistons a snip at around £1500, then top it off with a Dom Trickett full race gasflow job and oversized Kibblewhite stainless valves and seats think around another £1200 chuck in a set of MegaCycle billet race cams at £500. Dyna4000 race ignition and coils £500 a set of 40mm Mikuni RS flatslides £700, Undercut gearbox around £400, lock up clutch £250 all held together with APE heavy duty crankcase and cylinder studs. Once set up it should be producing around 205 to 210bhp at the wheel with enough torque to drag a rutting bull elephant offhis date and down the road. Speed is just a question of money...........How fast do ya wanna go?
