Off to Bridge on Saturday to try and find a new set of wheels (having sold mine) looking for a sport tourer but dont know what takes my fancy .Anyway other than McDonalds on the ind est is there anywhere near to Bridge we can get a decent lunch

Yes I'm just bitter and twisted but it's all their own work I'm afraid. Where do I start? Alas, they must do something right for enough people as they stay in business.
Not my business any more that's for sure. haha.
Consider SP down the road, or get down to GT's in Plymouth. Spending an amount of your cash has to be worth the relatively minimal cost of a few miles travel to ensure decent service and future care.

Theres the double locks pub thats on the side of the estate. Worth a visit.

Thanks for the replies chaps,going by the reviews on double locks i think i will give that a miss. Red5 we are only going to take a look and as we are 75mile away future service will not be a problem thanks anyway ,other dealers will be visited also before i buy ,already been to Damerells and Cornwall Kawasaki ,her indoors recon the FJR Yamaha fits the bill

Yep, Double Locks is awesome for an afternoon beverage.. great location. Swing to the R/H side of the road before crossing the bridge. You'll see what I mean but the car will fit.

Yeah, don't mean to sound such a grumpy old git but I'm bitter about bridge really, so take it as you find it I guess.

I find the food at the Double locks was OK middle of the range stuff. The main thing about it is the location by the canal locks and the fields. Lovely views, very relaxing.

As for Bridge. I don't rate them. I used to have my bikes serviced there but didn't get on well with them. One bike I had from there blew up twice before I said enough is enough and got another. My friends have had bad experiences too. One left without a functioning bike after having it serviced there.

This year, my Suzuki needed a factory recall done, plus MOT and Service, so I thought I'd give them a go, plus borrow a bike for a night/day for transport and a road test.

They managed to cock up the test bike booking so didn't get to test ride what I wanted, plus they ended up putting semi-synth in my Suzuki, rather than the fully synth I asked for.

Personally I wont be going back soon and my friends don't like it either.

Having said that, looking at all the bikes is nice and they must be doing something right to still keep going after all these years. I just don't know how they do it!

Well we went and looked at all the bikes ,they certainly got a few to look at .The wife's heart is set on the FJR1300 Yamaha and i gotta agree i think that's the one we will have .Salesman Chris was good not pushy ,they offer a lifetime warranty provided you have an annual service with them about £190 don't know how that will pan out ,any views on that ?.On the way home called into Damerells spoke to Carl he said they will beat bridge on price to keep my custom plus i like to keep things local and i got a test ride on monday

Dealer names being nothing to do with it, I am a firm believer in supporting local suppliers if they have or can get what you need ......

Its all very well buying via the inherent or travelling half way across the country to get what you want a few quid cheaper, but when the poo hits the fan and you need a part, or help, quickly, who are you going to turn to? If you don't support local people, it won't be them, because they'll have gone out of business .......

Went to Bridge on Wednesday to price up chain and sprockets. £100 more than SP. I know where my trade will be going. Also I went to Bridge a couple of years ago to get some jets for my Bandit. The spotty oik in spares dept didn't even know what jets were. Give me strength.

the worx in exeter is pretty good.Jamie really knows his stuff. he's been working on bikes for years.

there is a guy in ide who does dyno work, friendly bloke called Bud.

I had an accident at a Silverstone track day on the Tuesday 5th August that caused problems with the gear box meaning I needed some urgent repairs in readiness for Llandow on the 15th.

- Rang SP and they said they could fit me in in September.
- Rang Bridge they send they said might be able to have a look at it 14th / 15th for me (helpful)
- Then rang Colin from CR Motorcycles dropped it off that night on the way home and was all fixed and back with me by the weekend.

No brainer!!!!

That said up until this point all of my tyre purchases and MOT's have been done at SP and they have always done a top job.

Did you try CMS in Pinhoe?

CMS do all my servicing Tyres and the same on the other halfs bike as well
