Right having had a huge accident at pembrey I'm probably giving up the track days. Also means I'll start riding the road bike again, but sports bikes won't work 4 me due to the riding position. Looking at staying semi sporty though, either a BMW s1000 or perhaps a ktm 1290 superduke.
Anyone give any advice on these bikes please. I've a Ktm Rc8 at the moment.

Hope you have recovered well and for a different bike to put in to the mix I ride a speed trip rs and it's a lot off fun I am sold on it and a good mate rides a ktm 1290 which he love between the 2 the ktm has more adjustments on it's electronics

Added to the above... an Mt10, or maybe a z1000 if you don't like electronics helping you, or a z900 for that matter.
BMW r1200r for a grunt machine with character.

Are all cracking bikes but it depends on what you prefer.

I have a speed triple r and like gee46 really love it.
Will cruise and tour yet can push on and run with the faster boys as and when needed.

I do like the raving reviews of the 1290 also but just couldn't afford the difference at that moment in time.

Even the smaller mt09 or z800 are nice.

Personally now riding other bikes I think any modern bike is fairly capable and it's what fits you comfortably.

As above all good bikes I’m bias having the 1290 but have ridden the gxsf1000 but as Ian said they are all good bits of kit now.

Think as has been said all of the 1000 naked at amazing and all would be a great buy. However if your looking for a higher riding position to give you better room for your legs then got to go KTM

Hope any hurting stops soon Adrian. If you're looking at the newer nakeds I think the MT10 with that grunty big bang engine is cream of the crop. You can be a right hooligan if you want AND you won't need to get the seat rebuilt to be able to ride it.....
