cemetry cctv

As I am sure a lot of you who live in the Torquay area are aware the Herald Express highlighted the ongoing problem with theives taking from children's graves at Torquay cemetry. They highlighted my work collegues little granddaughter Rebecca Smale who had Downs Syndrome and died in January. Since then her little brother Thomas has put many little toys and keepsakes on her grave just for them to repeatedly be stolen. Cemetry have said they have put on extra patrols but to no avail. So now her parents are campaigning along with others to raise enough money to install CCTV there in a hope to put an end to this added misery for bereaving families. HSBC have set up an account, I have secured some free theatre tickets as a draw prize at their charity night at The Old Brewery in Ellacombe on 30th November. Loads of prizes, darts match and a really good evening if anybody wishes to come. £2 entrance and ALL money to go to this cause. If any of you can offer prize for draw or can think of any other ways to raise the £10,000 that the council & cemetry seem to think it will cost I would love to hear from you.

Have just rung Rebecca's nan and told her of your generous donation. Thankyou so much. There was a 20 min programme on Palm Radio this lunchtime and little rebecca's mum and the other mum who had her babies grave desecrated were interviewed. And thankyou Speedy, I know you would have helped if you could. I have manged to get Pantomime tickets for the Princess Theatre at Christmas for them to raffle also.
