Warning about M&P.
I ordered a new screen for the R6 and 3 sets of sliders from M&P in mid March. So far they have managed to send me 1 pair of sliders and charged me a fiver for the privilege. I have contacted them on a number of occassions but they have not responded since 9th April.
Be very wary of committing any of your hard earned to these people.

Had problems with them in the past. Ordered a tailpack a few yrs back with next day delivery as I was going away the following week. 1st it wasn't despatched for 2 days, & when it was, they kept sending it to the wrong house even though I told them several times which house it was
I still didn't get it in time & had to use a sports bag wrapped in a couple of bin liners
I eventually got it 2 weeks after I needed it, 3 weeks after I ordered it.....so much for next day delivery!!!
MPS (the fast one) are similar, but at least when they were at Heathfield you go & buy it there & then.

just to redress a bit of balance.
I bought some heated grips and handlebar muffs just before christmas, after a few weeks the controller for the grips disintergrated internally.
I rang them up and told them what had happened and they just asked me to pop it all in the post and they'd sort something out, after convincing the guy that I didn't really Need to cut the grips of (and consequently buying new ones to fit while I was waiting for a replacement heated ones) because there's nothing wrong with them he agreed that I'd just send them the controller.
it turned out that I needed to go to Gorseinon (swansea) so took the controller back in person.
they had sold out of the ones I had bought so they gave me a free upgrade to slightly better quality grips even though I couldn't produce a receipt.
top service from really friendly guy's, I spent quite a while chatting with the fella about the pains of owning old bikes and trying to get aftermarket exhausts for lesser popular bikes blah blah blah. top guy's

To Be Honest Tom, I was the same, used them for years, but when basically being told to F/O even though I had proof that there website DID NOT say 1 pair per person, I will never use them again.tomr6 wrote:I've used them for years and bought loads of kit from them. I even defended them when I heard stories about bad customer service. I wont be doing that anymore. My money will be going else where.
I think from now on, I will just use the local guys, the service is just so much better and personal touch of friendship, no phones, just walk in, order and away ya go.

just the other day i got a battery from them (orderd over the phone i have no catalog).
i asked the guy if it needed acid as the size for bmw's amost always are dry. the guy told me it was a gel battery and sealed so i orderd it getting him to cheak again.
when it came it was a dry battery and no acid with it so i had a look in the catalog thay sent with it it said "*= acid included" and its not in the gel/sealed section
gave customer service a ring and had a chat about my problem explaining that i was a quailfyed auto eletricain/engineer and i knew what i was on about telling her that it had a sticker on the top saying fill before use and read the little panflet to her. it said fill with eletrolite i was told that eletrolite was not acid
so i read the spec for the eletrolite(acid) required sulfuric acid mixed with distilled water to a spisific gravity of 1.27 for temprit climates
and then saying "look just send me some acid for god sake or put me trough to you maniger"
she sent me acid for free next day
why do you have to louse your rag to get stuff sorted thease days
ps a good tip is to state you costomer rights you are better off than you think!

We had trouble with a DVD recorder that we bought from a large electrical retailer. They insisted on repairing it so off it went
When we got it back it worked ok but broke again soon after. I phoned the Office of Fair Trading (very kind and helpfull people) before going back up to Exeter and he said to say that the goods were not fit for purpose, or along thoes lines. Got to the shop they said they wanted to repair it again. I said no I want a refund and that the OFT had said to say this.
Refund obtained
If you every ahve a problem or don't know where you stand give them a ring. I also found out that you can get a partial refund even if goods brake after a year. I think it was sokmething like example - if a tele is ment to last 5 years and brakes after 2.5, you can get 50% back

I recently bought some Muc off (2 bottles for 7.99) and some chain lube (BOGOF).
Both came quite fast and well packaged, so no problem for me (touch wood).
If you have a problem with a company it can always be usefule to spout consumer rights as Mike says, also a good one is that a service has to be done with due care and skill (that one helped me with SP).
