The fluid was changed yeah, only cost £3.20 for the fluid.
£3.20 for fluid is about right like Deej said. Cheap fluid at that
Also if wheel ain't running true does also create tension on chain as this ain't running true to, putting tension on chain, sprockets and gear box + tyre.
Umm another slight problem, twice now in two days I've tried to brake hard with the front and the lever came back to the bar before a loud "clunk" sounding. It's NEVER done this before and i'm not best chuffed.
I asked about the squeaking from the front wheel and he said it was just cus he'd cleaned everything up, but it's still squeaking 50 miles later and is louder than it was.
On my way back last night a small dog ran out in nfront of me and I tried to do an e-stop but I'm only getting about 50% braking from the front before it hits the bar. I'm really quite scared cus if a car pulls out than I can't stop in time....
What is the best way to approach the garage? I don't want to infer that they've done a bad job, they seemed very friendly and competent.
The dumber people think you are, the more surprised they'll be when you kill them.
there's no way your brake lever should come back to the bar and it still not slow you down. if it was ok before, then either the fluid is contaminated (unlikely) or there's air trapped in there somewhere (more likely). Take it back to them and just tell them honestly what happened and say that you are a bit concerned - your safety is more important than not offending them. it'll only take a few minutes to re-bleed and besides, I'm sure they would want to put it right in case of any liability if you did have an accident ;)
yep second that chris, dont mess about with brakes
take it back to the guys and get them to do a thorough check over. if they check it over and it still happens take the bike to spike who's just on the outskirts of truro on the a30 on the left as you head north from chiverton cross roundabout and he'll look after you.
Cheers, I'll take it back tomorrow. Will put on my nicest voice, last thing I wanna do is piss off the local garage when I'm gonna need them for another 2.5yrs! Even had some shuddering tonight, feels like the pads are sticking or something. I wouldn't ride it by choice but it's my only transport so can't do without it.

I took it back today finally and he took the caliper off and cleaned everything, the rag went black then he stuck it on the rolling road to do a brake test and rode it up and down the carpark. Managed to lock the front brake so assured me it was working!
I rode around town and it was much much better, squeeks but stops so i'm happy.
