A restricted bike should be only capable of about 95 tops. Thats what the certificate says for most restricted bikes. So that aint a restricted bike and he shouldve been done for driving a vehicle he was unliscensed for therefore also having no insurance either.

Should had put him in jail imo  Clearly a criminal.

Should had been 33BHP but I'm sure he's not the first one to find they've fallen out...

And of course ... it's not like any of us have ever exceeded the speed limit ... OK so perhaps 56mph over is a bit much ... reminds me of saying ... people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones?

I'm just surprised the other bike managed to get to that speed    (I know both the bikers involved btw)

'At about 126 mph' ... 'No accurate reading'

He obviously had a crap solicitor...

young lad - probably crapped his pants got intimidated to hell and admitted everything.

126 in a straight line on what is basically a motorway....big deal. His only mistake was to get caught.

Although I am surprised he got off so lightly. When I got banned at 19 they they absolutely threw the book at me and gave me a year, and about a £600 fine I think. But being banned from driving aint so bad at that age - and trying to insure anything thats not a C90 for the next few years when you come off the ban is way bigger a financial hit then any fine.

officers believed that they may be about to speed “due to their demeanour” - how on earth can you tell the demeanour of a person fully kitted, on a motorbike, in the dark

At the end of the day, if you exceed the limit you have to be prepared for the consequences - and in this case they do seem to have come out of it remarkably lightly given the speeed they are beleived to have been doing, especially gien the focus that has been made on that stretch of road in the last year or so

That said, when we got stopped the other week they initially reckoned we were doing 103 down ideford dip when I am certain we weren't doing anywhere near that ...... they then said that because the road markings were so far away they couldn't be sure - so why say about it in the first place :?

What!!

3 months for speeding and I have 12 months for a 20 seconds epileptic fit! That does not seem fair. Also, 126mph is not that fast along the A38. Before I was into motorcycling I drove with a friend a Jag StypeR and that was considerably quicker than 126. I think he made the mistake of not looking behind and being young.
Blue Sv650s Curvey - Now unrestricted but starting to find the suspension a problem.
Next bike: CBR600RR eventually.

Dunno where you got that quote, it's certainly not what I said  Actually said as much to the copper (while his mate was giving layne a FP for his number plate) but they were unable to check both my speeed and his at the same time
