At last I've read all ten pages, took me three nights     but very funny in places.

Firstly in Festers defence if you read the first page it wasn't him throwing the insults first, however he did take it a bit to heart rather than what I assume was a bit of banter.

There are plenty of bikes that I can't stand but I won't say on here cos more than likely someone on here has one and I wouldn't want to offend someones pride and joy. A bike may not be my cup of tea but I try to appriciate it for what it is. But if I think it's a complete pile I wouldn't tell the owner that.

However Fester started slating all of us, not just the ones who may have offended him, and that was out of order.

As for this comfey v's speed thing well me and Mel went to Tonbridge in Kent on my Daytona. We decided to go the coast way and traffic was so bad it took us around 5 hours  . I didn't start getting uncomfey untill around 180 miles and Mel was ok till just before we got there, 220 miles 8) We only stopped for 1/2hour for McD's.

I'm lucky enough to get to occasionaly ride a variety of different bikes. It's great to go quick on a sports bike but when you ride a cruiser you can plod along at 50 but you don't care.

As for the soul thing, well it's like Funky said really I think. If YOU think it's got soul then that's good enough for you. People may not agree but do you really care :D

Suzuki ( just great engines, GSF's, GSX'R etc all bullet proof)
Kawasaki ( mental bikes, the original Z1000 and the GPZ range, boyhood dreams!)
Triumph ( for coming back better and better, Speed Triple, need I say more)
Harley Davidson ( not my usual cup of tea, but you've got to admit that thumping great engine sound always stirs the soul)..( and I quite like the Night Rod, there I'v said it :D )
Yamaha ( the iconic RD's, DT125 and 175's, the YZF range and the Speed Block paint scheme  )

Haven't had time to read the other ten pages, so hope I haven't offended or enraged (or even engorged   ) any one!
Cut me in half and I'v got Suzuki written right through me!
Ride GSXR 750 WR ( 1994) .

there is a funny thing about old bikes you have fond memories of.....they are better left as just that - memories. I was raised on two strokes I went through every capacity of RD there was bar the 50.

The RD 500YPVS was my dream bike and I sold my soul and spent every penny I had at the time to get one. It was the last word in motorcycles at the time to me, I rode a couple RG500's at the time but they where to ugly and even though in reality they where better handling and (slightly) quicker bikes at the time I was blind to it as I was still a devout yamaha guy (it took me a whole load of years riding to work out that suzuki build miles better sportsbikes even though they might not look as nice)

I had such fond memories of the Rd5 and to an extent the RG - I remembered how blisteringly fast they where......until I had a chance to ride them about 7 years ago, both well maintained examples. what a let down - the only thing that will strike you is how horrendously slow they are, how bad they handle and how dangerously piss poor the brakes are. I wish I hadnt rode the RD and ruined my memory of it.

every thing has a time and a place - take it out of that and it ruins it. kinda like watching the episodes of blakes 7 you loved as a kid on re-runs. The old stuff you used to love is unfortunately usually utter s hit in reality.

they dont make them like they used to.....thank [censored]

:D :D  hahahahah have to agree with that. The memories are mainly what you got up to at that age, you for get the oil every where. A new pair of jeans wrecked with oil spraying out, breaking down miles from any where, pushing the bike miles as we did not have a mobile phone. The list could go on and on lol but hey we were young and didn't give a fu(k.
