clutch cable

Post by akayel »

Hi
My clutch cable is looking a bit dry (R1 2004). I'm guessing I need to disconnect it from the clutch lever in order to oil it properly?
If so whats the best way to disconnect it and lube it?
Many thanks!

Dunno about disconnecting it but as for oiling it, i used to make a cone from masking tape and newspaper then squirt in a light oil but not wd40 and leave it hung up for a few hours and a light oil should work its way down until you get a drip or two out of the bottom (waiting for the comments on that one) you can work the cable a bit to help it through if your feeling energetic or alternatively buy a cable oiler like one of these:
