A request for all female riders

Post by Chicky »

I'm doing a bit of market research and would be really grateful if you would share with me your clothing woes...how hard have you found it to get what you want?

What fitting problems have you had? If you could design anything differently, what would you ask for?

Any particular problems? Leathers? Winter gear? Helmets? Boots? Gloves? Anything else?!

Where do you shop for your kit? How are you treated? How would you like to shop?

Any other stories you can share with me?

Please either reply to this thread or PM me, many thanks for your time :)

No neither...I am doing some research before setting up something...am hoping to be able to help women with shopping for gear and socialising with other female bikers...will reveal all on here as soon as things are up and running...just assessing needs for now...
Thanks, Nicky

well i guess theres a gap in the market, ive heard that girlsbike2 in bridgwater has closed down :?:
thats the place to go for research, personally i think its good to have a female section but im guessing the majority of riders are male it seemed odd not supplying the male range alongside the female section

I should think they struggled with customers - Riders in Bridgy had a fairly good range of womens gear last time I was in there.

MonstaChicky ... have you tried the Curvy Riders forum?

I've never had a problem finding bike gear tbh ... but then I don't look for pink gear or leathers that match my bike (altho I suppose that'd be easy  ). I just buy decent, comfortable leathers!

Now if you were to ask about bike gear for kids ... that's a different matter ... ebay's the only affordable place!! Oh shit - Jay - I just remembered - I'll take a pic of the boots in the morning and send it over!!!
my mind not only wanders ... sometimes it leaves completely

+1 on the kids kit thing. What gets me is that a place like Bridge can sell kids bikes and quads bus nothing more than a helmet for the kids to wear on them  Matts kit is a nightmere. He's only 11 but tall and skinny hence why his trousers look 3 sizes too big for him.

Hi MonstaChicky, I know I may be askin a bit much but I just want a set of leathers that will protect me, fit me properly and not sit half way down my bum!! proving rather difficalt  I cant find a pair anywhere.

Im not too fussy but I really dnt like a set of leathers that give me a saggy bum or display my bum to the rest of the world, (it would be unfair on them!!)

So if you dnt mind me asking, whats the research for?

personally i have a problem with trousers too high up my waist. when i ride, i top of my trousers dig into my ribs (i dont know if that's just because i always zip mine togeter or not).

i also have the issue with the saggy bum thing, tiney on the waist, super baggy in the bum.

Also find that the armoured jackets are really uncomfertable(hey tend to dig in my sholders and move all over the place). unfortunately i'm quite slim so dont have much in the way to keep these things in place

i hope this has helped.

Cheers
Jade

There will always be a slight sagguy arse to all leathers due to the way they need to fit when riding the bike rather than when your stood still, that's why a 1 piece has a saggy arse to iy yet disappears when croucjed over the bike

Have you tried buying a set of mens leathers rather than the female sets.

The best looking womens leathers out there at the moment are the spidis, they look a really good fitting suit and do make the women in them look good

In case any girls are interested, my girlfriend has a set of Hein Gericke leathers for sale, black/yellow/white, 2-piece, size 12 - not sure what she'd want for them, but not a huge amount I'd guess. She's also got a black and white leather jacket, size 12 I guess, don't know the manufacturer.
If interested, PM me an email address and I'll try and send you a photo 8)
