Thruxton 18th April BSB

Post by whitehart »

Hi, not had the opportunity to meet any of you yet and thought this might be a possible. I am going to Thruxton on Sunday 18th and was wondering if anyone else had planned to go up? Would be good to get a group together. Anyone interested?

I'm riding a cbr 600 f sport and am a fairly new rider so not that quick..... but not shit slow either. I would be leaving from the Okehampton area. A30 A303

Ideal, any ideas for a good meeting point and time? May as well decide it now and then if anyone wants to join us they'll know where to find us. cheers.

Couple of people from the Launceston area are thinking of going up. Darren (aka Shiftycheese) or Craig (Monkey8414) are the ones you need to contact if you're interested!!

There is a good laybye for meeting up at Henlade nr Taunton. It is exactly 1.2 mls from jcn 25 on the A358 towards Ilminster. It is on the left at the entrance to "Tarmac"s depot and just at the start of the duel carriageway.
As far as the time is concerned...I for one am not a great early riser. The actual racing starts at about 12.00 with warm up in the morning. About 9.30 at the laybye would suit me but if you would like earlier, then please say.

Ideal, found it on google maps. 9.30 sounds fine, not a big fan of early mornings either and I'm an hour from you anyway .... I'm just glad you didn't say 7.30 !!
Cheers.

Matt,
What time are you leaving? I'm thinking about going, will take the Suzuki so I can push on abit (it'll be a waste taking the KTM as it's mostly dual carriageway now).

Hi Graham,
I'm not going personally going, someone Darren works with is organising it so Darren doesn't know times either! (well organised so far...!) I've told him to find out asap and post up on here or tell Craig so he can let you know!

Graham,

Update to last post. Darren/Craig are meeting/leaving Launceston at 8 from Focus carpark (if you know where that is?!). Hopefully Craig will post up with a planned route to A303 before then!

Cheers,

graham, if you come in off the a30, turn right and take the 2nd exit off the roundabout, follow that road and u'll see focus on the left just after a sharp left hander ;)

Cheers Craig, thanks for the company going up. Sorry didn't see much of you lot up there but hey, not all of us can afford the posh tickets - saw plenty of action at the complex.

I left at 6, called in at the cafe yoi said about but you weren't there, stopped for petrol and a snack at Okehampton, got in bang on 9, not sure if I was ahead or behind you?

Let me know if you're coming down to Hayle on Tuesday.
