R1 Wiring Loom / ECU help!

Post by Bucky »

Hi im having a few problems and im hoping someone on here may be able to help. I have an R1 5VY (06) engine and im after a wiring loom / ECU but i know you have to have the ignition barrel, ecu and key all from the same bike else it wont work because of the immobilizer. Does anybody know of a way around this, ive read that if i buy a loom, ECU and ignition barrel from the states it will be fine because they dont have the immobilizers?

Failing this ive seen in the past a wiring loom on ebay with the ignition taken out for a track bike . . Surely if this has been done the standard ECU would not work? Im not fussed about needing a key so if this would work and save me alot of hassel im all for it!

Thanks for any advice.

Cheers
Bucky

Sorry can't help on this one, I struggle when my bike has electrical problems and she's too old to have immobilisers and such modern trickery ;)

If Simon can't help you and Jam seems to have dissapeared then you may have better luck on the R1 forums :-s
