greetings!

Post by blade023 »

Hi all.
Just noticed this section so I thought I should say hi, as I'm going on this friendly ride tomorrow. Looking forward to it! I haven't done any long rides to speak of.

So I'm fairly new to biking in general. I started about a year ago with a cheap chinese 125, which I needed to get to work. After a few weeks of riding, having got used to the mechanics of it I started to really enjoy it and decided to save up for my full test. In October '11 I passed my DAS and got myself a '96 CB500. Since then I've been riding to work, riding for enjoyment and having some fun giving people lifts too!

I like going out for regular bimbles with DannyMassive whenever time permits, and as he introduced me to this forum and told me about the ride out on the 11th I thought it would be a great opportunity to meet fellow bikers and have a laugh.

I've been a chef for quite a few years now (10+ years) mainly because it was something I could do for a steady income, but I'm what you might call a bit of a nerd. I'm into techy stuff, I build my own computers, I'm good with fixing them and I've recently started getting into programming. Starting out with java, but I might move on to another language depending on how that goes.

I do tend to ramble on at times though, especially about things that pique my interest!

Hope to see some of you at the friendly ride tomorrow!

Thanks peeps. It was great to see so many at the ride out yesterday. I had a blast. I think I found the tail end charlie on the last leg too! (I got stuck behind a slow moving truck after getting stopped by the traffic lights) Junction markers were a godsend! I was a bit knackered after the ride, so I thought I'd chill out today and maybe sort out my screen (get it sprayed and fixed down properly) but my sister had other ideas. She missed the train so I ended up giving her a lift over to Plymouth.
