Road Surface Condition - Watch Out Folks!!

Post by TLS-Moose »

Yep, not only do we have to deal with the potholes & other ravages of a harsh winter on our poxy road surfaces, we have now entered the season for the highways departments to cover everything with a nice slippery layer of gravel to catch the unsuspecting out, whilst disguising the horrors that lie beneath :80:

I hit a crater in my van last week that bent both front and rear rims on the passenger side so badly I had to take a lump hammer & cold chisel to them to straighten it out!!!!

Yesterday whilst going up the Teign Valley road I noticed they've filled one of the layby's with tonnes of gravel waiting to be spread X(

Take care out there folks, and post up any horror areas you find to warn others ;)
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

Went out through Collumpton/Willand this afternoon. Signs are out and just on the Collumpton side of Broad Clyst, there's loads of it ready to go in the lay bys along the stretch past Quad World.
Don't care who you are, how much you have, how powerful you are. You still sit on the toilet with your pants around your ankles. Yep, it's a level playing field..

Same for the road leading to Silverton (not that anyone will be going out there) and also the nice bit just before you get into Lyme Regis (coming from Exeter)

I'm sure it would be cheaper to do it properly once and last a good 10+ years then having to do it every few years after it breaks up. I guess its something to do with their yearly budget. Cheaper to gravel.

looks like the road from the Ashcombe roundabout leading to Teignmouth is next. driving along there tonight and the signs are out and all the cats eyes had been taken up.

funny how every summer the roads that bikers like to play on all of a sudden need resurfacing with speed reducing kitty litter.

Guys just a A heads up, the A3072 just past Bow is the latest victim to the Kitty Litter treatment, the new ‘imporved’ surface stretches a good couple miles. Also the A3124 between North Tawton and Whiddon Down.
