Thanks to all the the info on polishing, jeeeez, no amount of nitromors would touch the lacquer on the forks of my XVS Midnight Star, just had to persevere with the wet and dry and then polish with mops in my drill, which lasted about six hours before it blew up with only half a fork to go! So its off to Homebase to get a new one (ten quid cheaper than Argos!). Ho Hum, such is life.
