We taking the roads or going cross-country. Just so I know what tyres to use.

You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.
Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

If it's not pouring down I'm going...
For info, this is a copy of the notes for the session.
You will need to bring your Drivers Licence for the class of motorcycle or scooter you intend to use for the on-road element. This licence must legally entitle you to ride on the road in the 'BikeSafe' area in which the on-road element will take place. Provisional licences are not accepted for 'BikeSafe' applicants although ScooterSafe requirements in some areas may allow this. (PLEASE NOTE METROPOLITAN POLICE WILL ACCEPT PROVISIONAL LICENCES PROVIDING YOU ARE RIDING A BIKE/SCOOTER OF 125CC OR LESS). If you hold a photo card licence you will need to bring the paper element of the licence as well as the photo card.
You will need to bring a valid insurance certificate entitling you to ride the intended motorcycle or scooter on the date of the on-road element.
You will need to bring a valid vehicle test certificate (if required) for the motorcycle or scooter you intend to use for the on-road element. The vehicle test certificate is sometimes referred to as the MOT. For the on-road element you will need the motorcycle or scooter relating to the documents outlined above. You must have legal access to this vehicle. It needs to be in a roadworthy condition. This is important as you will not be refunded if your machine is found to be unroadworthy on the day or if you break down during the observed ride, we're not even allowed to offer you a lift. Breakdown cover is a sensible precaution.
You must wear appropriate clothing - even if legal requirements have been met, we reserve the right to refuse to provide an on-road element if there is concern for your safety based upon your riding attire.
You will need to bring your spectacles or contact lenses if you require them for riding as there will be a simple eyesight test in accordance with legal requirements before the on-road element -The distance requirement for the eyesight test using old style number plates is 20.5 metres or 20 metres if the new-style number plate is used. New-style number plates are easily identifiable starting with two letters eg AB 51 ABC. If you can't speak English or have difficulty reading, you may copy down what you see.
Advise your 'BikeSafe' provider of any medical conditions or special requirements that may affect provision of the workshop, particularly the on-road element.
Consumption of alcohol, substances, medications - prescription or otherwise which may impair riding ability must be avoided.
Fatigue adversely affects concentration. You should manage the effects of fatigue through common sense measures such as sufficient rest prior to workshop, food/ hydration intake and clothing commensurate with prevailing weather.

FROM THE WEBSITE............kawasakiracer wrote:What about leathers / textile s on track
To take part in the assessed ride and track experience riders are required to hold a full motorcycle licence (restricted is acceptable) and have a machine that is capable of maintaining the national speed limit. You must wear appropriate clothing, however this does not have to be leathers and you do not have to be able to zip trousers and jacket together.
