I have learnt in life you get what you pay for, ever time I have taken a cheaper option i have not been happy or it has broke and cost me more. If it means saving for what you realy want then I would wait.

You can get a road legal Enduro for a little bit more...

Or even this one which has USD forks too.

I had a Chinese bike, found it fine to be honest. The engines they use tend to be older Honda or Suzuki designs so pretty damn good.

If you wanted it for off-road only, the one you found looks fine.

Just do a search for GY125, or Hongdou on eBay, loads of them and they come up all the time. I was thinking of buying the 200cc version myself but I have more than enough bikes already and plenty of debt

IMHO as good a bike as the cbr125 is - if it were me i'd go for a 2-stroke 125 - far more fun to ride,i had a DTR125 tuned to 26 bhp and a KDX125 - The DTR was one of the best bikes i've owned 8)

As Chris said, that bike doesn't look road legal. You might as well pay a bit extra and get a road legal one.

I often ride a Jailing 125, which is made in China, to work and its now on its second Winter and gets generally abused, but still comes up shiney when I clean it about once a month.

It starts everytime, gets minimal maintenance and been thrown down the road in a low speed spill with minimal damage.

I wouldn't ignore these cheap imports, just check on things like spares availability, and is it a proper dealer with premises rather than some bloke selling them out of his garage. Do an internet search on the brand and see if any horror stories come up.

The choice is yours :D

Hmmmm, Well if Funkalicious is selling one, which hopfully hasnt been ragged to hell :) , I think I might go for the CBR. If I brought the other one I would have to ride the scooter on the roads still untill I earned enough money again and I dont like getting no respect from bikers who drive past me pretending Im not there :( . Mind you I need somthing to pratice my gears on beacuse I get only get manauls into first gear so far and I dont want to damage the bike in anyway......CBR it is then. Funkalicious, Would you mind PM me the apox. price you will be selling it for please :) , If you ever do want to sell it in the end.

Thanks

id agree with tom that thing would disintegrate if you took it off road, and seeing as its not road registered that makes it about as much use as a chocolate radiator cover.

you get what you pay for...

I'm guessing you didn't read my reply properly, but the links I posted up were for ROAD LEGAL on/off road bikes, meaning you can ride them off road, or ON the road, just in case you were interested.

The one you first posted was OFF-ROAD only, and I have to agree with the others, wouldn't be much use unless you wanted to get used to trail riding or something and not bother with the road.
