My point was nothing to do with a test, more theStinky wrote:They never tested mesvr-ash wrote:Ignore thatStinky wrote:Also they don't test you on the theory at the end so just do what I did and keep nodding and don't really take any of it in.
My advise will be to listen, take it in and practise the basics all the time cause if you don't do that lifesaver when that lorrys trying to over take you, you won't get a second chancedo what I did and keep nodding and don't really take any of it in

But relax the only reason you can fail is if your really really dangerous on the road section but more importantly that you dont care your dangerous. Plus its not really a fail they just refuse to sign the sheet.
It is not the horrors of war which trouble me but the unseen horrors of peace

The best advice would be to try and relax, pay attention to what the instructor is telling you, and do as he advises
Go easy, and don't get frustrated if it doesn't all click at once, Rome wasn't built in a day .... as the saying go's
If it is done right, the day will not seem like a "test" but rather a day long driving lesson
Oh, and the main thing to remember - The instructor will not be setting out to fail you, or get you into a danger situation - have faith in what he says
Enjoy Yourself

Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....
Handle stressful situations like a dog - If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away

Ummm Hate to put you right here age but you Cant, its classed as a Training Course, ie, in theory there is no test at the end, However, you can be recommended to come back for further training until such time the instructor is happy with your prgress.AGE wrote:On the can't fail the CBT comment.....................................You can !!!:

Besides if you don't pass after one days training its not like they try to teach you any more stuff on a second day u just repeating it as the cbt is basically a one day course that you just keep resitting till u reach a good enough standard on the assessment ride.
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck
imo the CBT has gotten stricter, when I did mine (could had just been the place who did it) it was a few hours around a car park then 30-60mins on the road and they you're let on your way. never got shown life savers or anything like that, I certainly didnt feel like I should be on the road.
But when Kelly did hers they made sure she was upto a very high standard through a full 6-7 hour day, needed to do most life savers and have a good standard of riding and control, she went back for 2x 2-3hour sessions until they were totally happy with the riding (they even made sure SHE was happy with her riding).....It can only be a good thing

I literally walked in and walked out of mine with a cert stuffed in my back pocket
It was like: "I'd like to book a CBT please?"
"You there, you look like a sensible chap, have this"
And voila, a pass certificate!
Nah, it's easy - if you fail then it could just be a strict test centre, but that said; what would you prefer? An easy test that lets you go onto the road, fully trained on how to insert a key into the ignition chamber? Or a difficult test that trully trains you for road competance? Personally, I chose the former - specifically because my dad's an IAM instructor so he'd train me up... heh
