she ripped my dream apart and took a dump on it. :(:(:(

Post by Milky »

wow. i dont think anything has pissed me off an upset me quite as much as this. took my test about an hour ago round newton abbot. went out with 'sally' - bitch. she's about 7 foot tall and has the personality of a dead fish. all was good. feeling confidet after my hard work all week and was ready. so, we pulled outta the car park and that was when i realised she had it in for me. straight round penin..up the dual carridgeway towards exeter and off at the first exit to do my manouvers. all was good. not made ANY mistakes yet. pulled in on the estate to do my J turns and stops..carried out perfectly. so we carry on down through the estate towards the town and over about 200 roundabouts. on these i didnt miss a single check and went smooth and well. i was told to pull over a couple of times and do hill starts once again i did em all fine. then..she dragged me over the whole of the town to try and trick me with a couple of hidden no entry signs.. haha i'd been shown these and how to deal with them so thought i'd show the bitch i ment business and turned into the sideroad before i passed them and smiled to myslef :D! anyway..all went well on the way back..she then took me through some lanes an stuff behind brunell estate and finally back to the test centre. thank f##k fo' that i thought i'd done it. answered all of the questions perfectly about maintaining and impressed her with my engine knowledge and then explained stopping distances and the effects of carrying pillion. at this point she was knodding and begining to show some signs of life with a slight smile.. oh hell yeh this looks good..

so she takes me inside where i'm then faced with the words "unfortunatly you havent passed".

whyyyy!!? :S :(

turns out one of the roundabouts i cossed i was told to "take the second exit ahead" which is what i did. so as i aproached, did my checks, indicated my intentions, bollard check and went. now. coming round the otherside of the roundabout was wackin great dustbin lorry. he was on the outside and gave me plenty of time to get out so went out around the edge of it (didnt flatline it) did my right check because i was going straight, did my final checks and pulled off the roundabout and carried on. what i failed to realise was coming up the inside of the truck was a car. and i hope that the owner of the blue citreon c3 on the quarry roundabout at 10.15am today realises what they've done. although looking back at it now it WAS my fault for not thinking what could be behind the lorry. but i think after the riding i'd pulled off all the way it didnt deserve an instant fail!

apart from that i picked up ONE minor! yes, ONE. and that was for a late indication.

anyhow..i live down in exeter and am thinkin about re-taking my test in my home ground in 10 days time but until then..a waste of 400 quid, my whole half term and im still stuck with my L plates and a weedy little bike. sighhhh. will i ever be one of the proper bikers? lol

Poor you.. I failed my first test too, so I know how disappointing it is. Still, I'm sure you'll do it next time. Get booked straight in and get it done. :)

I had Sally as well she was nice enough to me, even though she failed me first time.
First time I failed on dual carrigways, thinking I had more power than I did moving out too early to overtake and made other people slow down.
On my retest I think she remembered me and didnt't take me on a dual carrigway at all

Keep your chin up mate, get yourself booked in for a retake asap. Before you get out of the habbit of them lifesavers.

Not that its much consilation but atleast you know now your totally ready and that it was just really bad luck. I know plenty of good riders and drivers that have failed for similar reasons, silly frenchie drivers eh!

Unlucky. Better luck next time. The test is annoying as I believe it is not a true reflection of your riding etc.

£400, I didn't realize it was that expensive now! I paid £210 for test and 3 days training. It was on a 125 not DAS but £400 is a nearly double. What you pay for a weeks worth of training?
Blue Sv650s Curvey - Now unrestricted but starting to find the suspension a problem.

Dont worry too much about it mate, its certainly not £400 down the drain as you learnt alot, and will be ready for the next test right away !

Just keep at it, and keep your riding on top form ! Youll get there !

yeh. £325 quid for 4 days training, £80 quid for test, £50 quid deposit! but your right, i did learn ALOT from it and i'm riding an huge load safer now. and that's the way to put it.. the test doesnt reflect your riding. i've been up at half 6 eveyday this week riding in the friggin rain and wind and tryin my hardest and then one tiny cock up afetr a safe run and they think your not safe enough to ride on the road! haha. i'm not gonna give up. just came as abit of a shock really thts all. prorider are ringing me over the weekend to tell me when i'm next booked in before my 400 quid or experiance begins to rust!

Put it down to a lesson learnt tom.You got to have eyes in the back of your head these days,as majority of car drivers dont think bike.Look at it as every other vehicle driver wants to kill you.your on your own out there.
better luck next time.

They always fail you first time... company policy. Its the end of the month too, maybe they passed to many people and needed to make the quota.

I failed mine first time for overtaking a cyclist, who apparently looked like he -might- change lanes, I personally never saw it. I only got a few minors too. I retook mine in Exeter (Taunton before) and passed with 14 minors and I rode like shite.

I had sally on my second attempt, I think she was in a good mood that day as she passed me =D
She was at the Exeter test center, sounds the same, dead personality but lightens up towards the end of the test hehe
Bad lucky buddy, I think they love failing first timers :S
