Help!! Dented Tank specialists?

Post by Skidz »

Hello All,

Newbie to this site, but not to bikes or bike forums (Mod at sv-portal.com)

Anyway, I am lucky enough to own a R1 (5VY) but sadly yesterday she fell over in the garage onto my wifes hibernating Bandit 400. Ouch!

I really did get away lightly, but gravity decided to remodel the fuel tank on the LH and now I am left with 2 dents. It was only luck that the paintwork is not broken or the tank holed.

Is there anywhere in the SW which can deal with my 'mishap'? I am based in the Plymouth area so any help would be appreciated!

Cheers

Warren

Not sure exactly where, might be worth just having a ring around some garages, or pannel beaters and places like that ?

I know they usually try to lever out the dent from the inside, and then 'hammer' is back into shape on the outside.

Yeh, give a guy called xavier webb a ring, although he is based in Beaford (Near Torrington) he is good and fairly inexspensive. His number is 07817 264986 or 01805 603076.

He sprayed up my "You know when You've Been Tango'd" track bike

As you're in Plymouth, there's a chap called Jerry who works from a place to the rear of the Octagon in Union Street. You will find him highly recommended by several people here 8)

I'm not sure of his exact location because he's moved since I used him (He was above RPM further down the road)

Edit:

Found his contact details ....

Thanks Guys,

I did try Jerry and he looked at the photos though i think it would be a hole in the tank etc, whereas I would like to explore the possibility of paintless dent removal as there seems to be people who can do that. I will give Xavier a ring and see if he can do that. I don't mind reasonable travel as I would like to try the PDR path first.

Any other useful suggestions, please feel free to chip in.

Many Thanks

Most paintless dent removal specialists do the majority of their work on cars. Look them up in yellow pages.
