I'll give the pub a ring tomorrow I think, just check availability etc... for the June dates...

Looks like about 6/8 of us so far....?

The simplest way of doing this is for each of us to sort accommodation independantly (we are all grown ups, capable of using computers and bikes so booking a room should NOT present a problem? :)): ) The B&B rooms are available as twins, or there is the option of using one of their cottages (this includes breakfast I think too) so if you want to share its up to you to sort this between you! :D

All sounds good to me, if the guys want to share a cottage to keep the cost down that's fine by me....let me know, otherwise I'll book b&b as don't own a tent.

I'd also be up for sharing if it means bringing costs down. I can also do favours!

I wouldn't do Norfolk, it's boring in my opinion.

Depends on the company Funky! :ymhug:

ok, just spoke to the pub landlord...he is going to email me with available accommodation options including prices :D

Apparently this date coincides with a 40's steam weekend locally, and as such he will only do Dinner + B&B for accommodation for those two nights. Shouldn't be an issue? We'd be eating there anyways I think (otherwise its ride to elsewhere = no beers!! )

He also mentioned they have a further option for a shared unit which sleeps 4-6 and is located in the camping area and close to the shower block. By the sound of it, I think it would be fairly basic but a) isnt camping and b) probably pretty reasonable! He can do this on a B&B only basis if prefered......

I'll keep you updated when I get some more info :D

No beers? Noo...will eat there lol. I think the B&B is now looking more appealing.

Ok, here is the email response from the Halfway House Inn

"Hi Sheila,

Great to hear from you again. This is the general configuration of the rooms and cottages.

For a two night dinner, bed and breakfast stay, our price would be £55 per night per person with full English Breakfast but this would reduce to £45 per night per person for full occupancy of Orchard Bungalow or £50 for 4 person occupancy. I can only offer 2 night stays over weekends.

B&B rooms in the pub

Room 21 Double and up to two single beds

Room 22 Double and a single bed or a triple.

Room 23 Double and a single bed

Room 25 Double or twin

Room 26 Double or twin optional extra bed

Room 27 Double or twin with twin bunks

Cottages

Victoria Cottage Double with extra single bed, bath with shower, WC and wash hand basin and separate double bed settee with optional z bed, fully fitted kitchen, washing machine, shower & WC.

Coach Cottage Double or twin and separate upstairs room with double and single or 3 single beds, 2 shower rooms with WC and wash hand basins, fully fitted kitchen.

Mural Cottage Double or twin optional extra single, separate twin bunk beds, fully fitted kitchen, washing machine, separate WC, shower and wash hand basin.

VictoriaMural! and Coach Cottage have an interconnecting door and can be a let together I'm wondering if this is the best option

Orchard Bungalow Double or twin and twin bunks, separate twin or double, one shower room with WC and wash hand basin but adjacent showers and loos. This is the unit located in the campsite area which he would do on a B&B basis only option if need be - BUT no pictures are shown on their website (?)and I reckon would be a bit cramped! hmm...!

Orchard Bungalow which can sleep 6 people would be a slightly cheaper option as it only has one bathroom but it is next to the shower block for the campers. Have a look at our website for all the room and cottage layouts

We have grass caravan pitches from £18 per night with electric hook-up, awning etc. or Super Pitches on hard standing and direct water supply from £22.50 per night. There is 24-hour access to toilets and free showers. Our tent pitches are priced at £8 per adult and £4 per child age 12 and under. Infants are free.

Electric hook-ups are £3 extra per night.for anyone else wanting to come along, but happy to camp!!! :D

Best Wishes

Peter Williams

So....because of the totally jolly spiffing 40's Steam thingiemebob also happening that weekend, we are going to have to book promptly I think! :8o)):

The adjoining cottages appear to be the better option and gives a bit more flexibility between them both..? Of course, if any of you guys simply want to book your own rooms thats fine :D

What do ya reckon....? :?
